Does the voting really change how the politics is run? It's like peeing into the snow in a dark night, it might make a difference, but it's hard to tell, I'm afraid.
Bill White, and local Democrat congress representative. Libertarian candidate where available, democrat for the rest, except for criminal courts judges, where I unfortunately had to vote for republicans (Democrats believe in "second, 3rd, and 10th chances" and are waaay too damn lenient when it comes to punishment for crimes. )
I voted Libertarian for Governor and Attorney General, Republican or no one for most of the rest of the races, and 1 Democrat for personal reasons.
<R> all the way down the ballot. I knew I was going to do it, but I just never feel right about choosing the easy 1 click option.
Oops, that was "R" all the way down the ballot. I enclosed it with... Code: "<" and ">" ...and it must have viewed it as code.
What about the Propostions? I haven't voted yet, but I'm currently researching and I'll probably go (in Houston): Prop 1 (Drainage): yes Prop 2 (Required Residency): ??? Prop 3 (Use Red Light Cameras): yes I have to wonder why Prop 2 is on there. Is this a power brokerage thing? Other positions I think I need to read about: County Judge, State Senator, State Board of Education (my rep is uncontested, but with the embarassment the SBOE has been to Texas, candidates should get more scrutiny than they get), and Attorney General. The others I already know what I'm doing, or I don't care who wins.
Straight Republican! For the first time in my life. I have never voted in a Republican primary. I voted for Jimmy Carter. I voted out the Republicans in the last election. I have primarily voted Democratic throughout my life. However, Reid, Pelosi, Franks, and the other left wing nuts in the Congress WOULD NOT LISTEN. My friends and I wrote hundreds of letters and emails during the Healthcare deliberations, Cap and Trade, and all the rest. They did not hear us, but they will now. The Nation will remind them that it is a Democratic Republic. our voices will be heard. When you think you know best in doing the peoples business, you are wrong. And here is the same warning that the Dems got when we voted them in during the last election.....If you do not hear us and go back to your "Country Club Republican" ways and hob nob with your corporate buddies, we will throw you out next time. Here is the message: GET THE PEOPLES HOUSE IN ORDER, BALANCE THE BUDGET, END THE WAR ON THE PEOPLE AND SMALL BUSINESS, REDUCE TAXES AND INCREASE OPPORTUNITY. STOP LAVISHING OUR MONEY ON YOUR FRIENDS. YOU WORK FOR US!
