all Stros fans always say that Ward could be da bomb, I guess we're right. I'm glad we didn't trade him for some middle reliever. I hope I didn't speak too soon.

While Ward's salami was clutch, the most encouraging thing I took from this game was the play of Biggio. Dude went 5 for 5. If he can get back to allstar form, this lineup will be unbeatable, because with him getting on base, there is more than enough guys behind him who can get him home.

Another big test will be tomorrow with Lima. If he can get his act together, this season looks very good indeed.

What pissed me off was that the game wasn't even televised in Austin.

Luckily, 1300AM is carrying Astro's games now, so I got to listen to it, but still, what the hell were they thinking? Hmmm, Amatuer Boxing or the Astro's season opener. Good call on that one.

Oh, and the Astros have four outfielders that could easily go for 30-35 dings and over a 100 RBI a season if they got the playing time. Its a wonderful luxury to have.

Oh, and Craig Biggio sounds like he's fully recovered. Its good to have some speed at the top of the line-up.

My guess is that FSN chose not to carry the Astros game because of the possibility that it could conflict with the Spurs game (I think the Astros ended right around the time S.A./Sea tipped off). I didn't get it either here in CC, but Fox Sports is showing the rest of the series.

Let's just hope we get some good pitching. Elarton looked good today. As did Powell and Cruz. Elarton and Cruz's change-ups looked very good. We all know the offensive potential is there, but I just hope that our starting pitchers will be productive.

I don't need your pity! DON'T PITY ME!!!

I'm actually happy here for now. I've got a good job, the beach is nearby, and I have family here in town. I don't think I'll stay here for longer than 2 years, but for now, things are copacetic. [IMG]

I used to live there until I moved to Austin. Needless to say, if my family didn't still live there, I wouldn't go back.

I have a CC question for you then. Do you know of a good sports bar (or whatever) that shows the Rocket games? I haven't found one here yet (not that the last few games inspired me to watch).

Biggio was great yesterday. Bidge must've been playing with some serious emotion out there. Imagine being as good as he was for so long, then having people question your abilities after returning. He had something to prove, to himself and to the media and the fans.

Don't forget about Truby. No one thinks he's the answer at third, but he got off to a good start too.
