    How about These Centers?

There will be a number of centers cut. Here are some. Can Fuller, McIlvaine or Chenowith help us?

Magic waive free agent C Fuller
    October 16, 2001

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (TICKER) -- The Orlando Magic on Tuesday waived free agent center Todd Fuller, who signed with the club on October 1.

Fuller spent last season with the Miami Heat, averaging 2.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 7.7 minutes in 10 games.

Originally selected by Golden State in the first round of the 1996 draft, Fuller has appeared in 225 NBA regular season games with Golden State, Utah, Charlotte and Miami. He has averaged 3.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 11.1 minutes.

Fuller played four seasons at North Carolina State and ranked ninth in school history with 1,585 points.

While there are better guys available, I think Ike could average numbers like Fuller's. And, apparently Rudy likes Ike enough to invite him to play during the preseason. Ike is definitely a project, but he would get huge support from locals.

Another example of why the Warriors suck. Joe Smith 95, Todd Fuller 96, Adonyl Foyle 97. Please lets not even think about this guy.

What ever happened to Pig Miller?? He always seemed to put in 110% effort on the court.

I would doubt very much with that line-up Kobe would be played at the point because all he does is shoot. Give it to Shaq you damn hog!

Ike Nwankwo may be the answer as the Rocket second backup center. My point in this post is to check rosters for center cuts and/or trades that will upgrade our thin front line. I'm really not familiar with Fuller, but he is a 4-year guy from a major program. If he can't help us, let the search continue in places domestic and foreign.:)

Now Jim McIlvaine has been cut. Watch for those falling trees! I think I like Ike more, although JM is like a 7-2 behemoth who can foul Shaq hard six times in six minutes.

Other than Ike wearing a "shag" *see below, He has looked better than Collier by a long shot. Some of these guys like Collier and Langhi sometimes just don't cut it. I hope they do, but with Williams and Anderson last year, Dan should have been pushing those guys for playing time, just like Collier. Ike has a better jumper than we thought and he seems to look like he knows how to play the game. One thing about those guys that go overseas, they seem very hungry and play every play like its their last and i like that. Lets keep Ike and see what happens because Mcillvaine, Fuller, and some of the other stiffs seem just as bad.

*shag- a old school hair cut that was worn in the early 80's, but has been out of style since. :D

I was just surfing the BB sites and noticed the Knicks cut Eric Chenowith of Kansas. He's a 4-year major program bruiser (7-1 and 280 lbs) who can be picked up on the cheap. Could he be the second center backup the Rockets need, or does Ike still hold the edge?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Eric Chenowith
Drafted by New York Knicks in Round 2, pick 43

    Jed Jacobsohn/Allsport Position: Center
    College: Kansas
    Conference: Big Twelve
    Height: 7'1
    Weight: 270
    Age: 22
    Birthdate: 3/9/79
    High School: Villa Park (CA)

Chenowith had an inconsistent college career, but he's huge and can shoot. His range is exceptional for a big man.

I dont think Fuller is the cure to the Rockets needs at all. If anyone I would say go with Ike or Pig. They both give their full effort on the court at all times.

    LOL! :D

It took me a while to figure out this reference, and then I realized it was Seinfeld. What a classic show that was!
