I know many of us want to see a trade.. and for good reasons, while many want to stand pat.. as well for many good reasons. But what about guys outside that elite status category that could seriously give us that piece or two when yao comes back? I'm looking at this as sort of a "sleeper" free agent thread for this summer.. I mean the fact is that we may not move on a trade as it is now, and we may not land a big time free agent this summer. So basically i guess i'm inquiring about what MLE guys will be available this summer that wouldn't get us into salary cap issues while potentially providing a good piece to help the team out as it stands?

    Any ideas..?

    Jermain Oneal
    Allen Iverson

Then we could imagine how good we would be 7 years ago.

you think so? i thought with the cap being lowered next year and all the guys that we will probably want to bring back i.e. scola, lowry, etc that we wouldn't have but maybe around 7-10 mil to work with..

    Resign SF and TMac
    Sign Jermaine O'Neil this summer
    Trade for Brand

    SF3
    AI
    TMac
    Brand
    O'Neil

Then we could imagine winning a championship back then too while we are at it....

If the iggy dalembert trade falls through we'll be set. I'm big on signing another power forward though, Amare (preferrably) or bosh. Then we could make a trade for some role players of vets, but pretty much all the players we've got have grown on me.

The best we could do over the summer is a MLE guy like Mike Miller if we let TMACs contract expire which would be ok but trading TMAC now in the right deal could allow us to pick up a tier 2 guy and a MLE guy for the squad next year. Now if Les is willing to screw the LT then it could get interesting but all this happens only if we move TMAC within the next 2 weeks.

A backup center that could take away 10-20 minutes away from Yao to help keep him healthy all season long is a must! ;)

who actually wants to do nothing?? I really can't comprehend why fans would want to not do a trade. It's a fact that it's the ideal situation for the team...using tmac's contract to get a star player so that it will still allow us to keep this team intact this summer. Why would you want to wait untilt he summer where the difference between getting a certain player may be having or not having scola and lowry?

I think Morey has something we don't see up his sleeve, and knowing Les he probably gave him the green lite.
