Would this solution fly? Trade #13 and our Detroit pick for Cleveland's #8 in order to get Joe Johnson. Then we trade the two second rounders owed to us by Chicago along with Walt Williams to the Bulls for Dalibor Bagarac. There are rumors Rudy would have selected him last year had Chicago not grabbed him at #24. As I said in another post, Bagarac is 21, 7'1" and 280 pounds. During the Bulls games I watched he showed flashes of a real talent for the game. Of course, most of the time he looked lost, but I think that was caused by his European rookie-ness. Anyway, that might solve the center problem and give us a SF-SG in Johnson.

Giving the 13th pick and the Detroit pick for the 8th pick is not a bad idea, but I don't know if Cleveland would agree to that. The only way I think it might work would be if Cleveland didn't have a player that they liked available with the 8th pick.
Bagarac for Williams and the two 2nd rounders is also a good suggestion but again why would Chicago want to take Williams?
I have also heard that Bagarac has been cut by the Bulls, if that's correct then we don't have to trade for him.

I hadn't heard that he had been cut. I heard they were cutting Tarlac since he is a free agent. The Bulls are actually center rich with Miller, Voskuhl, Bagarac and Tarlac, and they are expected to take Curry or Diop to serve as apprentices behind Brad Miller.

Cleveland might counter offer on the picks I mentioned, but you never give away the ranch on the first offer. Right? I prefer to go for the Griz's #6 but that will be more expensive for no appreciable gain unless you want to gamble on Diop. We do need a center of the future.

Saleem, I forgot to mention the Bulls would not be interested in yet another center (Cato) but they have a need for a veteran SF who can shoot, i.e., Williams. The Griz can't take Cato unless they unload Big Country, so I think we need to start Cato. He has been trashed by just about everybody (and deservedly so), but I have a hunch that he is going to have a productive year.

Thanks for the clarification on Bagarac. You are right that we do need to look for a center for the future, but do you think Chicago would take Williams and the two 2nd rounders for Bagarac?

Saleem, I think the Bulls would accept the Williams and two seconds because, assuming they draft Curry or Diop, they will have too many big men. Jake Voskuhl, even though they had him stashed away on IR to work on his upper body strength, can play center or backup PF. Bagarac, 21, is a pure center, and Tarlac at 28 did not make enough progress to be a keeper. By trading Bagarac, they get rid of his cap space, get two tradeable second round choices and they still have Miller, Curry/Diop and Voskuhl.

The Rockets have no second rounders this year unless Chicago decides to give one to us. I'm not sure what the deadline is for awarding one of them this year, and I'm not sure in what years they are due. Does anybody out there know this info?
