Lamar Odom is still out there...and I would LOVE for the Rockets to pick him up. I know hes had problems with the law and things, but he can turn it around under JVG (ie Spree). He would cost around what Posey got, but is far better. Him and Francis can put up a triple double on any night. Odom also plays great defense. He would be the ideal 3 for the Rocks. Also we can work some sort of sign and trade revolving around Moochie as they need a replacement for Andre Miller...What do you guys think??

Good idea, but I think Memphis is looking for another SF. :)
Seriously, though, the Clippers like him, and will probably pay ~$8-9 million per season for him. Not to mention, the trainer's tables in the locker rooms would have stems and sticks all over them from Odom, Griff, and Taylor.

    How about KG or Marion?

Both those teams could use Mooch and Cato.

    get on the phone CD.

    1) their not free agents
    2) LA does not want Odom back, as they are targeting other players, Odom's likely destination is Miami, Rielly loves him.
    3) In a sign and trade, teams do not give up much because they are desperate to get whatever they possibely can rather than lose them for nothing. Look at the Pippen trade when we got him from the Bulls on the sign and trade...we gave up nothing...

Your crude mockery is dumb, because what i said does make sense

Would be nice but I think that Odom is a restricted FA and would require a trade. Dont know that we have anything they want. They have said that they would like to keep LO anyway.

Moochie would be a nice fit for them, and maybe they take Rice because they are losing Patiwaski and they will need an outside shooter..

So you want the Clippers to give up talented players in exchange for un-talented players who will make more money than their talented players will this season?

Well, then again, they are the Clippers...

their gonna need a point guard w/out Andre Miller, and the only other team right now interested in Odom is Miami, and they dont have a point to offer. Everyone at the Rockets board might hate Moochie, but I live in New York and every other fan in America knows Moochie Norris, and knows he hits big shots. I gurantee you his trade value is pretty good, its just not realized by Rocket Fans.

Rice for them would be a nice bench player, who has an expiring contract. So, they may just look to free up more cap space. Rice can also be a good mentor I suppose on a young inexperienced team.

I understand that, but what the rest of the states don't see that we in Houston do see is the stuff that happens in between the big shots. He shot like 50% free throws, he constanly dribbles the shot clock out, and his general game knowledge is severely lacking. Not to mention the fact that his contract is ABSURD. That in itself makes him unattractive to potential takers.

He didn't mentor our guys so well last season, and he was the only veteran we had. I think the only mentoring he did was when he went through that spell of complaining about his lack of shots that he was getting.

Okay, lets make some sense then.

    1) Odom is a free agent yes. But so was Kidd. So was J Oneal. They are all out of our price range.

    2) Since when did you know that the Clipps don't want Odom back? People said the same thing about Brand. Odom and Brand are probably the only 2 guys on the team Sterling would pay big bucks for.

    3) Maybe in a sign and trade where the other team has cap space and can sign him outright, but not when its team way over the cap like the rocks. Why would the Clipps want to take on a bunch of bad contracts just to get something back for Odom?

    4) No one would give crap for Mooch. The clipps already have Jaric and Dooling who are far superior to Mooch.

Your crude mockery of a thread is dumb.

Odom would be too good to be true! Aside from his off-the-court troubles, Odom would be one hell of a pick up. Actually, If I had my choice of small forwards, he'd be at or near the top of my list. He's just THAT talented, and posesses uncany skills for a small forward, let alone a player that's 6'-10". He would add size, speed, the 3-ball, scoring ability, and defense to the team. He could also play the point-forward at times, freeing up Steve and Cat to slash and hit open perimeter shots. Most of all, he would provide the Rockets with a scary aray of talent that could go a long way towards intimidating opponents. He could provide a 3rd or 4th scoring option and at any given game become the number one guy.

I'm sure Van Gundy could really light a fire under this guy as he WILL with Griffin in order to maximize both of these players' incredible potentials.

Odom hasn't signed Miami's offer sheet, has he?

Maybe he should wait the 15 days on Maggette's deal first, then sign the offer sheet. OR just take the one-year tender. Then he can play the market at the deadline or next offseason.

I'd love Odom here. I'd pay more than most of you. He seems the perfect complement to Ming and Francis. Ball is in his agent's court.

On the Mooch front... interesting take on value around league.
I wonder what Moochie's ticket sales value is. Why is he on billboards? Why is he in his own commercials? He must sell. I think Mooch is a marketing thing, not a basketball thing. Only the 3000 or so hard-core b-ball nuts on this site (who occasionally buy a cheap seat) boil with indignation at the Mooch's antics. For the great unwashed (and lux box targets) - he's a happy clown.

Who needs a happy clown? NY? LA? It's got to be a tv market.
Maybe Sterling could sell duckets with the celebriduck man. Actually, it's a perfect fit. Donald - here's your marketing gold mine. Moochie - bright lights, big city, baby - smile for the camera.

I take it it's not realized by anyone involved with the NBA or the Rockets or basketball at all for that matter because if so Moochie would've been gone a while ago.

Aside from all of the obligatory "Moochie Sucks" threads, Moochie's made contributions to the board.... He was once an emoticon model.

Quick, someone PhotoShop an afro on an EEK emoticon.
