Now that his contract was bought out, Do you think he would be a good backup for Cat for the minimum. He still has a sweet jumper which would be great for the zone.

I don't think he should be a priority but he would be a bargain for a million. I think his knees can hand 15 min / game.

    What do ya'll think??

Mitch wants to go somewhere that he can get a bigger role, and if we acquire a backup SG, he's either going to sit or play about 5 minutes in every game. We can sit here and dreamcast about minute distribution, etc., but I can guarantee you Rudy knows how valuable Moochie's assets are to this team, and he's going to get at least 18 minutes per game. To do this, you're either going to get Steve just 30 minutes per game at PG, or let him play SG for a lot of the time, including the 4th quarter, like the last year and a half. Mitch isn't a horrible idea, but as long as Moochie is on this team, Steve is our backup SG.

I thought LA wanted Mitch to play a 6th man role for the Lake Show next year but they got Hunter instead- less injury prone. Richmond could be had for cheap, and maybe he could teach Mobley a thing or two about shot selection, but I doubt he wants to come to a young team like the Rockets. Anways, we have more players than roster spots already.

If we keep Moochie then no don't need him.

But if Moochie leaves we will have to find someone. People alwyas mention that Stevie can slide over and play the 2 when Moochie comes in but keep in mind Mobley can also play the point with Mitch at the 2.

I wouldn't rule it out, but it's hard to tell what Mitch wants. If he takes a smaller role more than likely he will go to a team with a better chance of a championship.

I think we should sign Mitch to a huge contract and then resign Cato to an even Bigger contract and also get Patrick Ewing. That way we could really screw our team.

He is PAST his prime and not worth anymore than the minimum. I dont think he would agree to that though....

Since he got his contract bought out, I think he will play for the minimum as long as the club can contend. I think the rockets are close and could use him as a backup to Cat.

Ive always liked Richmond and really felt sorry for him the past 2 years but there is zero need for him. I hope the guy gets strong minutes in Utah, SA, or LA, he can still play. Even at the bare minimum it would be wrong.
