The Rox remaining schedule: tonight Boston - win (home game) Sunday at Minnesota - win (the wolves are struggling) Tuesday Miami - win (home game) Thursday Cleveland - win (home game) Friday New Orleans - win (back to back against a scrub) Sunday San Antonio - loss (tough road game) Next Monday Utah - win (road game against a scrub) Next Wed Portland - win (winnable road game) April 1 New Orleans - win (home game) 3rd Phoenix - win (home game) 5th Golden State - win (road game against scrub) 7th Lakers - win (road game against scrub) 9th Suns - loss (tough road game) 11th Sonics - loss (tough road game) 13th Memphis - win (tough home game) 16th Denver - win (tough home game) 18th Clippers - win (home game scrubs) 20th Sonics - win (tough home game) I'm a Vegas guy...they should win the games they're favored in plus all home games, (I hope). Only 3 more losses.
I think the T-Wolves may suprise us Sunday. And I could see us winning a game or two that you predict we lose, probably Seattle and San Antonio. The only lock I see for a loss is the Suns- they will be hot for revenge. I also see us losing one or two of the scrub games with that old Rockets lethargy (but I hope I'm wrong).
if that holds true, i'd say we'd catch dallas for the 5 spot. just guessing..that's without seeing dallas' schedule going forward.
tonight Boston - loss (home game) Sunday at Minnesota - win (the wolves are struggling) Tuesday Miami - loss Thursday Cleveland - win Friday New Orleans - win Sunday San Antonio - loss Next Monday Utah - win Next Wed Portland - win April 1 New Orleans - win 3rd Phoenix - win 5th Golden State - win 7th Lakers - win 9th Suns - loss 11th Sonics - loss 13th Memphis - win 16th Denver - loss 18th Clippers - win 20th Sonics - win 12-6 We will finish 51-31
We will stop at 50 wins, which will be the first time the Rocks have cracked the 50-win mark since.......forever! And that was AFTER a slow start and a bad month-and-a-half I get shivers just thinking how good this team will be next year!
You're being a little optimistic about some of those games. We struggled without Bob Sura, who brings toughness and hustle to the team. Juwan Howard isn't what you call "tough", not physically, anyway (not that I'd call him names to his face), but apparently he's a vocal leader for the team. On the floor, he has a nice midrange jumper, probably one of the few on this team who does. So, when our 3 point shots aren't falling, and the other team's power forwards are shooting lights out, and we're down to just Vin Baker sucking wind and wasting fouls, we'll have some problems. Hopefully this just means we can go small ball and run some teams out of the gym. But I say we'll finish with about 50 wins. All things considered, that would be a freaking good record.
LOL! He cracked on Sura's "boy band" hair, and said that instead of taking one night off for the Super Bowl (like SF3), he toook 3 weeks off for the All-Star break, and said "What's up with that?" He said he saw someone in the crowd the other day who was wearing a T-Shirt saying "Bobby is a Hottie" . So basically he has been cracking on Sura all day He also talked about Yao taking over games in Suns and Sonics games, and he said that the Rockets haven't really needed Yao to play like that in most games, but that when they needed him he carried them at the end. He said Wesley is on auto-pilot and shooting lights out and they usually run a play for him at the beginning of every game so he can knock down an open jumper. He said the loss of Howard hurts, but Clarence is quicker than most people realize, and that they don't need scoring from that position anyways, and Clarence is an excellent defender and rebounder, and that is what they need. He said while Howard doesn't look too emotional from far away, he is a floor leader and a professional. When asked why basketball players slap hands at the free throw line, he said that players say, "What the heck is the matter with you? How can you miss a FT? You are an NBA player for God's sake!" He said that his teammates instead of picking him up after he missed the two FT in a row, they grilled him on it and made fun of him all day Then he commented about his dad a lil bit, but no one cares about that part
A quick fact.... Last year's Pistons were 39-25 at one point and ended up 54-28 and won it all, so it can happen.
Barry said that we have a quiet home court, and he is excited because he heard the next few games are sold out. But he said that knowing what a wonderful facility the Toyota Center is and having seen the Lexus Lounge and all those nice places in the arena, he understands that some people watch the game there, and he says he would too if he wasn't playing End of Interview
Here's my prediction for remaining schedule: tonight Boston - win (home game) Sunday at Minnesota - win (the wolves are struggling) Tuesday Miami - win (home game) Thursday Cleveland - win (home game) Friday New Orleans - win (back to back against a scrub) Sunday San Antonio - win (tough road game) Next Monday Utah - win (road game against a scrub) Next Wed Portland - win (winnable road game) April 1 New Orleans - win (home game) 3rd Phoenix - win (home game) 5th Golden State - win (road game against scrub) 7th Lakers - win (road game against scrub) 9th Suns - win (tough road game) 11th Sonics - win (tough road game) 13th Memphis - win (tough home game) 16th Denver - win (tough home game) 18th Clippers - win (home game scrubs) 20th Sonics - win (tough home game)
The Rockets probably have to win around 52 games to catch Dallas. That would require a 13-5 finish which will be tough, but possible. They can't afford to lose more than one home game the rest of the way though.
I'm sorry, we're just playing so well and I just can't imagine losing to any of these teams. Spurs and Heats are gonna be tough, but I believe we could win these games after a tough fight.
I just want to say, right now when we play in this level it is really hard we will lost 2 games in a row. So we may lost occasionally and pick up another win streak again and again. I see 14-4
