Which of these players should Morey target this off season, during the season, at the trade deadline, or in the future?

I would take Melo over the others. I would love to have Chris paul but point guards don't have as long of careers as small forwards.

I chose Melo myself. Though, acquiring cp3 would also give us a good shot at getting Melo since these 2 have been rumored of wanting to pair up. That's another story. So to be more realistic and if i had to pick one, i'd go with the best closer.

regardless of how they fit, CP3 is the best player IMHO
    Melo the best scorer

Danny is behind yet an allstar

What else is good about carmello other than his scoring? I've never really focused on what he does on the court.

i'm not a fan of players that can pretty much only do one thing. melo is probably the best scorer in the league, but he doesnt play great defense and doesnt pass.

the reason i like lebron's game so much is because he can pass like a point guard and is a facilitator. i'm not saying anything about lebron's character or anything like that, i'm just talking about his basketball iq.

anyways, if i had to choose any of those i would select chris paul so quick and never look back. chris paul plays excellent defense, he can shoot, he can makes smart passes that are also great passes, he can also shoot very efficiently.

i dont even think carmelo would fit rick adelmans offense. carmelo doesnt even run an offense. with carmelo its all about isolations.

Have the Rockets ever had a true all-world PG? I know the best in our franchise history is Calvin Murphy but he's just a blown up version of Aaron Brooks (aka not a PG) when you look at his video clips and body of work.

I want to see, for the first time, the Rockets get a true PG who can average ~10 assists per game and would unquestionably be the best in their history.

The Rockets and Centers are like the Astros and 2nd basemen. But for us to get a great PG that would be like the Astros getting a great SS. It just hasn't happened before.

Forget those players, let's break up the big 3, and go after Wade, Lebron, or Bosh. It knocks out a strong playoff contender.

Getting another star player is looking like a crapshoot. So many players have moved teams. Who's left?

May or may not be available: CP3, Granger, Melo

Probably available, with caveats: Arenas, Ellis

    Star player?: Iggy

If we somehow trade for Iggy, the only one of the three players that would make sense is Paul ...

    PG: Paul
    SG: Martin
    SF: Iggy
    PF: Scola
    C: Yao

Morey won't go for any of the players in the poll because 1) they are not available and 2) they are too expensive.

IMO, Morey will give us Chris Mihm as the center splash. He is younger (31) than Brad Miller and has an excellent pedigree (a seventh pick by the Bulls in 2000 IIRC). He is a 7-footer from UT who has offensive skills and a hunger to finally prove himself. Mihm will be happy to accept the minimum to resurrect his career. The big question is whether his legs (ankle injury) will hold up.

The other possible, but less likely because of salary, is Kwame "Stone Hands" Brown. Now 28, Brown is still an athletic PF-C although not known for his court savvy. However, if the price is right for the Rockets, we could give him a chance to show off his #1 pick pedigree as a backup to another #1 pick.

Now that Scola and Lowry are signed, IMO one of these two will be the main target -- unless Bad Brad takes the minimum, which I doubt.
