At the end of the second quarter Joseph had a pass that would have been a touchdown but for the last second creaming causing Blake to underthrow the ball ever so slightly.
Gotta say that Joseph looks to be the man in a big way only to be backed up in the long run by a decent Keenum.Briles is building this team top to bottom....... Rome wasn't built in a day. Remember 4-5 years....SEC
Well, hopefully in 15 years time he'll actually start thinking about getting some defensive recruits. Heck screw that .. if we're still giving up huge plays like this next year, I hope he gets fired.
Briles is an offensive guy. The defensive recruits are coming as the program develops. We have quality YOUNG recruits on that side of the ball now. As far as defensive coordinator goes,I think all will take care of itself as we rise.
Don't get me wrong ... I appreciate what Briles has done. It's just frustrating that year in year out the same things continue to kill this team. They are already capable of scoring points on anybody in the nation. Who knows what would've happened against Oregon and Alabama if we hadn't made stupid mistakes and given up so many huge defensive plays. They've got to do something on defense -- hire a new coordinator, get on the ball with recruiting, something. You can't be giving up 48 points to Rice. Whatever you accomplish on the offensive side of the ball tends to be completely negated by BS like that.
I was at UH during the Kim Helton era. Even after I transfered out, I've followed them through the Dana Dimel debacle and now with Briles. After experiencing Helton and Dimel, Briles looks like a god. He's still building and if you get greedy and start looking for something better, it'll probably collapse pretty quickly. When I was there, losing to Bama by 6 would have been major cause for celebration.
I was there too. I remember the 0-15 season very well. Unlike many people on this board *cough*tinman*cough*, however, I don't like living in the past. I see this team as a really good football team that is capable of making some real noise on the national scene if only they could get their defensive act together. The fact that the offense is still clicking the way it is despite the loss of Kevin Kolb has already cemented Briles' status as an offensive genius. I'd just like to see some progress on the defensive point, that's all. What good is it scoring 35-50 points every Saturday if you keep on giving up the same amount of yardage to weaker opponents? Who knows ... we might actually be ranked right now if we had gotten W's over Alabama and ECU with just a couple of defensive stops.
Deng! I should've gone! My roommate went and was in the very front with the loud peeps. He called me right after the game and said it was the best UH game he's ever seen. Also he said Yao was also there, not just Tmac. I still think the most exciting game was in Hawaii against that Timmy Chang guy in that overtime thriller that we lost.
so you killed ALL OF THE RICE FANS? seriously, why don't they show up at Robertson? are they really that scared of coming into third ward?
I hassled a semi-cute Rice girl - something about putting some "Cougar Pride" in her Also, I met Trev Alberts tonight, so it was definitely an interesting day
