I have a friend that went through a nasty divorce and a very abusive marriage. Needless to say they are pretty messed up, and dont feel like ever getting out there again, and thinks one day someone will fall in their lap. I remember a while back I bought some concert tickets on ebay, from a guy that ran a singles club. It wasnt swinging, or dating, but more like they would go to all kinds of events; from wine tastings, to concerts, to skydiving, etc. Of course not all events appealed to everyone, so the members would pick and choose. Since our tickets were next to theirs at the concert, I noticed that it looked like they were having a good time. Im trying to encourage, or gently, or secretly convince my friend that there are good people out there with busy careers, family life, etc. that make it difficult to meet someone just like them. If anyone has any experience with a group like this please let me know. Again, Im not looking for internet dating, match making, or swinging clubs. THANKS!
I think people use Leisure Learning for similar purposes. Take a random hobby class is a pretty good way to interact extensively with new people. If they like cooking, they could do Urban Chef.
