Houston Penguins?

Why? In case you haven't heard, there's a brand new arena being built downtown.

 

The NHL will come to Houston only if it's owned by the Rockets. By building a hockey arena inside the Astrodome, anyone can own an NHL team in Houston. 2 arenas in Houston sounds nice. Dallas has 2 arenas, why not Houston?

 

The Stars and Mavericks play in the same arena.

 

I guess Reunion Arena does not count since the Stars and Mavericks don't play there anymore but it's still an arena. Detroit has 2 arenas. Why not Houston?

The Miami whatisname plays in Ft Lauderdale.

Is Sam Houston Coliseum still standing? That's where we used to go see the Houston Mavericks play in the ABA days....

 

Too bad the leaseholder for the next 30 years is a piece of $hit named Les 'The Houston Sports Anti-Christ' Alexander. When you voted yes to the new arena, you also voted yes to no NHL for the next 30 years.
