I normally know all the good spots in town, but was hoping someone would have some suggestions. I'm looking for a T'afia / Shade type of place, but not those two places because I've been there more than enough and I like to try new things. Anyone know of any other options in town? I've tried Glass Wall, that was good. And have been to most of the obvious ones. Mark's, America's, Brennan's etc. My wife doesn't eat any meat or chicken. she's a pescetarian. t'afia is her favorite because it's organic....though, they could do with mixing up their vegetarian options. so something like t'afia, but new or different. thanks for the help!
I ate at Chez Nous this past saturday and I must say its the best dining experience I have ever had. My girl looooved it! I had duck breast with some other stuff I can't pronounce.
This place Reef in midtown is supposedly awesome. I've been meaning to check it out http://www.houstonpress.com/2007-09-06/dining/fish-skin-chicharr-n/
I went there a couple of months ago and thought it was mediocre at best. I liked Oceannaire in the Galleria much more.
. Is French really the best place for someone who is basically a vegetarian...she will eat fish, though.
Ate at DaMarco the other night for the first time....it was good. Lots of seafood options. Reef was OK.....small protions, but it was good.
well, if you haven't tried Scott Tycer's new place ... Gravitas, try that. It's fine...not as good as Aries was, but worth a try. It certainly has a nice atmosphere. I think Julia's Cafe was good at one point, but has slipped. You've been to Catalan, right? on Washington. I still say Merlion Restaurant in Seabrook (near Kimah) is excellent Thai seafood. I just went there for my bday. It is a very romantic little house. I'd also recommend Italian for the Risotto dishes. for good 100% veggie but not in "fine dining" type of atmospheres I like Pepper Tree and Madras Pavilion: Pepper Tree on Richmond has a quality buffet and dinner entries. I haven't been for dinner, though. Madras Pavilion is good 100% veggie Indian, on Kirby. Count on their being a lot of butter, though. It's very rich food.
