I am starting this thead to see which sport is most important to the Houston fan. The question is which sport championship would HOUSTON FANS most enjoy? The Rockets The Astros The Texans
They would all be BIG but the rockets all the way. Astros would be nice too considering all the good teams we had and the choke job in the playoffs. Texans? Your in for a looooong wait. and by the way, Wrong Fourm
I hate baseball and the Astros have been chokers for so long. I like football, but I hate the Texan's crap conservative offense. Man they stunk it up last week. I say we fire Capers if we suck this year. Has to be the Rockets. they are the only team that ever did anything here.
Rockets, of course, because they are the best team that ever existed and the only one in Houston that's ever REALLY amounted to anything (Astros haven't even made it to the WS). If you ask this during the baseball playoffs, a lot of people would have said Astros. If you ask this 2 or 3 years ago, you might even get Texans because they were still really new. A ton of fans in this city are fairweather and not many cared about the Rockets just a couple seasons ago. With the anticipation for the upcoming season and the fact this is Clutchfans, Rockets win.
well of course the Rockets, this is a basketball forum hahaha. Nah but I like the Giants in baseball and 49er's in football anyway HAHA. I never liked any Cali basketball team especially the Fakers (God I hate them), I ended up liking Hakeem cause he got so many freaking blocks.
C'mon guys. The Rockets are my #1 home team but clearly a Super Bowl win by the Texans is what the majority of sports fans in this city want. In all but a few of cities (Boston, Indy, New York) the NFL team is always the main sports priority. In the good ole USA, the NFL is king right now by a large margin.
Really? I don't think so. Miami: Heat > Dolphins Boston: Celtics > Pats Arizona/Phoenix: Suns .... uhhh... what's their NFL team name?
I'm a homer, and I love the Rox above all else, but it's time for the 'Stros to get their due. I don't think it's 'time' for the Texans to get on yet- maybe 3-4 years from now I will be drumming my feet in expectation.
I want a Rockets championship most... ... but I voted for Texans because apostolic3 is precisely correct.
As the old saying goes, dance with the one that brought you. Since the Rox are the only ones to ever win for us (sorry, Comets and Aeros dont count), they get my vote. But, I do want to see the Astros win one before I die.
Rockets all the way. I would also like to see the Astros win even though I'm a Cardinals fan. Also an all Texas Super victory over the Cowboys would be sweet too!!!
I love the Rockets, but my vote goes to the Texans winning a Superbowl. Come on - It's the Superbowl, for crying out loud.
I kinda sorta like the Astros. They have been losers for so long I feel bad fro them. I can't stand the freakin Texans. First of all I hate the name. Most unimaginative crap every. And then there is David Carr. He is actually worse then Quincy Carter ever was. So go Rockets!!!
Well, to be honest, since the Rox have already given Houston two rings, I think it would probably ultimately be more special to the city in general if the Astros were to win a World Series than if the Texans were to win the Super Bowl, or the Rox were to win another Championship. Nothing against the Rox, but we have already experienced the fulfillment from them, that we have yearned for for so long with the Astros. Having said that, though, if I was a betting man, I would not bet against the Rockets as being the next (real) pro team to bring another ring home. And the Texans?? LOL, to have an expansion team actually take a step BACKWARDS is actually quite a trick. McNair is going to find out real quick just how little patience this city has with losing. Reliant Stadium is going to have an awful lot of empty seats pretty soon, if those guys don't wake up and realize they need to start playing big league football.
I would have to say it is the Astros for me. But I love all my Houston teams. Astros, Rockets, and Texans are like children to me, with the Astros being apple of my eye.
