This is my first time posting on this site and want to start with congratulating you all for this wonderful site.

I am from Denmark and I have been big a Houston Rockets fan since guess what: The 94 season. The reason being Hakeem Olajuwon.

I have one humble prayer: PLEASE DO NOT SEll THE DREAM.

Let him retire after this season and then give him the biggest celebration ever seen in the history of Basketball. Let the world know how much you like this guy and show that you know how to appreciate people who has been with you so long.

Don´t let all this recent craptalking destroy the picture.

    Honour Dream!!

    Welcome to the site...

The Rockets and fans have always had a love for the Dream, and I think that's documented very well through many other threads, by many posters, here. Believe me, Rockets fans appreciate the man.

As far as letting him retire, that's really the player's decision. He's gone on record as saying that he wants to play beyond this year, which most likely means that he won't retire a Rocket.

The "craptalking" could never detract what Hakeem has done for the city of Houston and Rockets fans, that certainly isn't something to worry about.

I know most of you will always love Dream, but it is disturbing to me how many people who just slaughtered him when he said that he would be interested in a trade because he didn´t feel he fitted in with the we played.

I think he had a real good argument because lets face it he didn´t fit in and we were not getting the basketball out of him we could.

I don´t want to blame anyone I just want to show how much I love Dream even though he lives on the other side of the world.

I also became a fan of the rockets because of Hakeem. I just loved his game from the first time i saw it, back in around 92 or 93.

How much coverage are the Rockets/NBA getting there in Denmark, 4230DANE? Most Danes I know are avid soccer fans, so I was just curious...

Unfortunately the NBA doesn't get any coverage at all. It did once but this year the NFL has gotten a lot of coverage but I really think that the NBA would be a bigger succes.

Maybe it´s because we suck so much when we play. Perhaps the same reason soccer is not so popular in the states.

Basketball has of course gotten a lot of interest lately when we got Magic Johnson to play for us, but sadly we still suck.

The Houston Rockets do not get any respect from the media at all!! It´s all about the Lakers, Sixers and Knicks.

It is nearly impossible to get any Rockets merchandise, but there are still a lot of Rockets fans out there anyway. In the school I go to there are few basketball fans but those who are fans actually all like the Rockets. That´s a good sign.

    First off, welcome....

I, too am a huge Olajuwon fan. I started watching the Rockets when he came out of college. And I hope he retires after this year as a Rocket. I think alot of people (myself included) just were upset by what he said regarding the Heat. No one wants him anywhere but here. It seems that Clutch is right though about him not wanting to retire. Wherever he goes (or stays), I wish him the best. Because without him I wouldnt be the Rocket fan I am now.

Don´t you all think that if we make the playoffs or perhaps make a good run in them, then Hakeem will retire!

    I suddenly do.

Perhaps the reason for him to say he wants one more year is that it looks hard for us to actually make the playoffs this year. I think he wants to go out on top. Most legends do.
