    I'm guessing 12,500.

I would hope the fans would give this team and chance and more would turn out but I wouldn't bank on it. Maybe if the Rockets would get on an early roll and build some excitement the fans would return. Last seasons attendance figures were a joke. I can't make it tonight but I'll be there for the Clippers game Thursday.

    Have a good time.

I'm guessin the first sell out won't be until the Lakers game with the possible exception of the Sixers if the Rockets are playing well and winning some games.

I wish I could go, just happens I have school tonight.

Probably going to the game saturday though. Saturdays game should be a good one, what is it going to take to get our attendance up? The Rocks obviously are entertaining, price is only thing I see in the way  . We definitely need to support this team more than last year.

I really want to go, but I don't have any means of getting to and from the game tonight . . . it'll have to be a week or two :(

But still, I'll be listening on the radio.

11,790 Im guessing. Which is horrible for one of the most exciting teams in the NBA.

I wouldn't expect the crowd to break 12,000. Jordan's return and the World Series will keep a lot of people at home tonight.

I think its time to bring back those 2:1 ticket offers (perhaps updated to "3 for the price of 2?"), and Fried Chicken deals.

Les, the players want a packed house!

I bet attendance was down everywhere due to recent events and the FBI warning that was issued today...but 9,500 stinks :(

    Franchise,

I forgot to mention but it turned out I did end up going to the game. A buddy of mine called and we ended up buy a couple of nosebleed seats (not all that bad for the price). The crowd was dead for the most part. I think a lot of that had to do with the long opening patriotic ceremony that was held before the game. It just seemed to drag on and on and take all of the wind out of the fans and the players early on.

    OS,

YOU, are allowed to complain! I agree with you about the opening ceremony. It seemed to be more patriotic than exciting. I'm proud of the tribute but I think they needed to excite the crowd more afterwards!:D

You're right about the ceremony, but it was appropriate with everything that's gone on... and since basketball is the last major sport to start since September 11, I thought it was a nice gesture to open the season.

9500 is pretty pathetic... but that's Houston. Actually, did the Rockets do ANY marketing to get normal fans out? I mean mass marketing, not the dopey ticket vans that go to two Kroger's in the entire Houston area. Sometimes I think the marketing guys are clueless.

Hey, marketing guys, those Reliant Energy Rocket fan commercials are getting OLD.

Hey, marketing guys, why don't you try to reach the average fan with some commercials on regular TV (if Mattress Mac can do it, so can you)?

Hey, marketing guys, why don't you cut us some slack with the ticket prices?

Hey, marketing guys, why don't you set up a nice, cheap Austin mini-season package so that I can come to Houston and catch some games? (sorry, a selfish one here... but the Spurs have a 20-game pack for $400 that includes tickets to two Lakers and one Wizards game)

I know a lot of people who love the Rockets, but not many people who are willing/able to spend the cash to get good seats. The nosebleeds will remain empty simply because they're called that (I actually think the sight lines are decent at the Laptop).

Maybe that's what the marketing guys for ALL NBA teams deserve after years of going after the corporate fan instead of the general public.

I don't have a voice today. I was in section 203, which was also way up there but I was the loudest fan out there until I lost my voice. Where did you sit?
