    Umm... Either you were too young at the time, or you've forgotten that year. Embid doesn't have nearly the hype Yao had. I'd say he doesn't even have a 10% of Yao's hype despite social media advantage.

    A bit disingenuous with that fluff piece. That pick Orlando returned was very heavily protected and would've turned into 2nd rounds if Philly still sucked by then. It's not actually that valuable to Orlando. Overall the price Orlando paid to move up 2 spots was quite fair.

    Still a brilliant gamble though. But Orlando wasn't fleeced or anything.

    Yao as a prospect is irrelevant. The chances of Embiid having a career matching or exceeding Yao's is tiny.
