Cato, who was recently activated off the injured list after ankle and left rotator cuff problems. We'll let the following quote speak for itself, since it is coming from a guy who has played in just eight games this season:

"In the practices the last few days, I was a little slow to use my left arm for blocking shots . . . I don't want to get hurt again. It's mostly mental.'' Feel free to insert your own line here.

    Way to go Cato!!!

Once again you have graced us with your toughness.....

ITS TIME TO SACK UP AND PLAY!!!

This is the reason I am pissed we signed him for so long. At least Matt Maloney played good for a whole season.

I'm not pissed at all that we signed him to such a "big" contract.By todays standards, and considering how rare true centers are nowadays, the deal the rockets gave him was a good one. For god's sake, Ben Wallace is earning 5 million a year! Cato's contract is not that bad. I would take a foul prone Cato anyday over an unathletic guy like Collier.

Tacoma: So what you're telling me is that Ben Wallace made two million less than Cato this year? Ben Wallace has been mroe productive than Kelvin Cato.

Sounds like we're the ones getting screwed there.

Why is it that everytime BC defeats a major conference opponent, that opponent promptly goes on a losing streak?

    Yeah...and I'd hate to have Wallace's 12 boards a game when we could have Cato's roughly 2.

I was saying many people criticize his toughness and the fact he hasn't provided the bang for the buck, but the fact is the rockets are a better team with him than without him. I understand he's been injury proned, and it pisses me off too, but the statement I made was directed more toward the people who talk about trading him. I just can't stand the idea of having Jason Collier as the rockets center of the future.

No way Collier is the center of the future- even if they deal Cato- why would anyone ant him?- theyd go out and get someone else. The Rockets are still waiting for a return for their investment, and Im guessing they'll wait for a little bit longer, atleast while Dream is still here. Which brings up another point- if he accepts a Barkleyish deal, do you bring Dream back next year?

Tacoma, if we were to trade Cato, I can almost guaruntee you that neither Rudy, Les, or CD would allow the Rockets to play for years with Collier as our main center. If we got rid of Cato, we almost certainly draft a better center, trade for one, or sign a free agent center to fill that hole.

    Rudy is not stupid.

Thats the problem. The truly good centers ,who will be in the draft, will be picked too high for the rockets to get them. Also, what centers would the rockets trade for? I really don't see any.Cato is the rockets best option, and he's a TRUE center.

Guys, you're wasting your breath. "He does produce when he's out there," "the rockets are a better team with him than without him," etc. How can you argue with that? They are true statements. The thing tacoma doesn't realize is that he will sound like an idiot saying such things four years from now when Cato has played a total of 80 games.

Excuse me for my optimism. I just dont assume a player will continue to be injury proned, like you do.

    Great job Tacoma.

I am one of Cato's biggest backers.

But unfortunately the truth is he has been pretty injujry-prone.

I do think that if he could stay healthy(and he will be soon) he would be a very productive center giving us 11 points, 9 boards, and 2 blocks.

    Not to mention some Shaq-Stopping.

I would give anything to pay someone 5 million bucks a year to rebound 12 a game.

    Hell thats a bargain!!!

Ben Wallace...He's not a good defensive player, only a rebounder, and has no offense at all. He has left free throws 4 feet short. I'm talking more about the comparison of Cato to Collier, because I would take Cato anyday over Collier. You can question his toughness if you want, but he does produce when he's out there, and brings a new dimension to this team. Also, alot of you criticize Cato, but you haven't even given him a chance! I just think he's going to be better than alot of you people are giving him credit for. He may not have that burning desire as a rebounder like jerome williams, but I know he will at least change some shots and block some, which is all you can ask of him.

Man, the Pistons have to of the biggest garbage men in the league. All they do rebound and keep their mouth shut, hell they even score sometimes. I wish we could get one of them.
