I'm pretty sure it's the facilities they've designed to nullify the powers. When she walks into the room she has some sort of device behind her back (not the gun) and you hear a sound similar to the tractor beam in star wars deactivating (am i hearing things? Probably so) It also appears her powers don't affect him. The episode where they captured him it seems as if he didn't listen to her and possibly could have killed her if it wasn't for the haitian.
I LOVED That quote...Hiro is just awesome. I think the show is really coming along nicely, and how about Ali Larter turning herself in to lock up Jessica....wow !! Spoiler Will Sylar still be able to take the suggestive powers away from that girl even though she killed herself? Or maybe he tries and takes some flawed powers away. DD
Spoiler rules for this thread. OK, I have been using spoiler tags to talk about the last episode in case some people have it on DVR. Perhaps we should make a rule that Spoiler tags only apply to FUTURE episodes or content? Man law? More interim graphic novels - GOOD STUFF- Maynard ! Chapter 11 is particularly good. DD
Yeah, maybe she deactivated whatever they use to nulify the powers so she could use her power of suggestion. It's just when she did that, it allowed Sylar to use his as well.
Well, I don't think he has to be the one that kills them. He needs to examine the brain in order to figure out the power. Unfortunately, most people die when you remove their brain. Now, they didn't show it, but if she had her brains splattered out, then maybe he'd be unable to figure out the power. No brain=no power for Sylar.
I don't think Sylar can take Eden's power, thus the reasoning for her killing herself. She knew what he would do if she didn't take her own life. Anyway, what a BUMMER that they killed her. She was one of my favorite parts of the show. The Haitian speaking was cool as was the potential story involving Claire that seems to be developing. I don't really have any interest in the split personality storyline, her husband, or her son. Maybe it's just me, but it's the weakest part of the show for me thus far. Side note, I like how the show has not been all happy so far. The suicide of Eden, the death of Charlie (who Hiro "loves") and now Claire losing her best friend.
Looked like a t-rex to me. still don't know how he avoided getting shot but it appears the reaction speed of his telekinesis is extremely fast so he could stop the bullets if need be. It might take him longer to piece her brain back together but I'm sure if he really tried he could take her power but the pieces he needs may have already been destroyed. I mean Deagle point blank. Ouch. Still waiting on how they connect DL, Nikki/Jessica and Micah to all of this. Any speculation on why Peter is sick? Does the cop have some sort of sickness he might have absorbed? Where are they keeping the Nuclear guy? In the prison as well? Was Peter close enough to start abosrbing his radiation?
the nuclear guy escaped a few episodes ago. We don't know where he is but my guess is that he is heading towards NYC. I think Peter's illness is due to the fact that he is still dealing with his power. he absorbed several powers in a fairly short period of time and I think that has effected him.
Obviously, I'm all for spoiler tags for future episodes only. If anyone's reading this thread after a show they haven't seen yet.....they're dumb. Haitian: I believe his powers are purely telepathic. Bennet said that Sylar was the first with multiple powers, and the Haitain for certain can mindwipe. I believe his presence during Eden's initial interogation was to counter and protect Bennet's mind from being influenced. Sylar's ability to nail Eden - I like the idea that the room was blocking powers and she turned it off in hopes of influencing his suicide, but he realized to quickly that he could nail her. Pretty rough way to go. I also wonder if he "fixed" himself to resist her suggestions after the first encounter. A lot was left unsaid there. Peter: He's had precog dreams since the pilot (seeing himself fly, etc). No real explanation of why. His dream looked as if he took radioactive man's powers and Nathan was either a full-fledged bad guy or was going to fly him above and away from NYC. Sylar coming at him in a dream was freaky. That's IT material there. His illness...I can only tie it to either the Sylar dream or Mr Bennett. Sylar: "You know that won't hurt me" coupled with Matt shooting him up a few episodes back and his taking the fall with Peter suggests that he can heal himself too...which makes it awfully confusing as to why he wants Claire's power when he seems to already have it for the most part. Nikki breaking out of prison's going to be a funny Terminator moment. "Have you seen this boy?" Evan
spoiler'stags are your friend...I loved last nights episode... Spoiler I don't get how Sylar was able to get out...I don't think it was the Haitian that blocked stuff, but the room itslef...Eden was hot and was sad to see her go...I think she did kill herself so Sylar wouldn't get her powers...Maybe she told herself to kill herself...The power of persuasion... I wouldn't have thought that the dad would have ordered Claire not to remember, luckily the Haitian didn't follow through...I am looking for a bigger role for the Haitian...It'll be interesting to see how he and Claire develop... Niki giving herself up was cool, but now what...I'm not sure where they fit in...I love the T-Rex drawing and it was cool to have Issac draw without drugs...controlling his powers... I have no idea how Peter was able to see the future or why/how he got sick...Claire was there before he got out, so how could his injuries re-appear...I would have thought the nuke guy would have blown up, not Peter, but I don't know...
But when you drop a spoiler box like you just did, no one has any clue what's in it. Random observation or major spoiler? It's Russian roulette. If you're going to drop a spoiler, give a heads up about the content.
I'm buying into the telekinesis theory that he simply wouldn't allow the bullets to hit him. He quite clearly doesn't have the power of healing as he mentioned taking Claire's power again. I think he's just mastered his telekinesis. They also mentioned that he lost a lot of blood.
I too, thought it was a T-Rex. My guess is Hiro locates the origin of the sword and goes back in time to get it. Somehow he gets it but when he tries to return he warps himself to prehistoric times and fights a T-Rex. Then he somehow ends up back on teh roof of the office building doing toe touches. I thought about putting the above in a spoiler tag but decided that 1) I didn't want to misuse it and have the spoiler tag police get me and 2) it's just too tempting for everyone and I know that you all click them anyway.
Watching ep. 9 again it seems eden's powers have minimal effect on sylar. She told him to sleep twice yet he didn't fall. The haitian had to come up on him. Sylar when he was with suresh was aware of the girl with the powers of persuasion so I buy into the theory that sylar may have altered his genetic code to defend himself against it which is why when eden tried to have him kill himself the effect didn't work on him. Didn't someone post earlier that there may be a twist that involves a family connection? Anyone think that Sylar may be somehow related to Peter and Nathan? Father could have cheated considering he had mob ties with Lindermann so the dad wasn't a very decenter character perhaps. Peter may be able to absorb powers and right now it seems temporary maybe as he becomes more in tuned with his powers he will be able to control how long he holds onto it. Like i said, man so many possibilities. I love it
I could be wrong. It could be a T-Rex. But I thought I saw fire coming out of its mouth and Hiro kind of blocking it with his sword. That made me think "Dragon". I need to find a screencap.
I keep reading here that Eden killed herself, but I thought Sylar used his telekinesis to make her do it. I guess I could be wrong. I think that last dream sequence probably housed a lot of clues if you can figure them out. Anyone think Peter will become like Xavier in X-men where he can find other "heroes"? I mean, he never met some of the others yet but he still saw them in his dream.
