The Chinese team sucks big time, but you know, they don't really have a tradition in good basketball, never have been a force, while Germany have more tradition, they have a true NBA All-Star in Dirk and generally know what they are doing. How about Turkey though? Yuck! Now, that's embarrasing. Hedot Turkoglu (overrated), Mehmet Okur, Mirsad Turkan and they fall to Puerto Rico? How come nobody's on Hedo's case?
And now here comes the most embarassing thing from Day1: Player min 2ptM/A % 3ptM/A % FT M/A % O D Tot As PF TO St BS Pt Andrei Kirilenko 14 0/5 0 1/2 50 2/4 50 4 1 5 0 5 2 0 0 5 If you can't figure it out here's the highlight: 1/6FG (1/2 on 3s), 2-4FT, 5rbs, 0Asst, 5PF, 2TO, 0Blks, 5pts Yuck!
I don't think Germany team is better than China 4 years ago. Even now, I think China have chance to beat Germany if china NT have a right coach, right players and do some right training. China actually was always a force in basketball. but... CBA, Pro basketball is market related. Officals only care about money, not basketball. How to beat Chinese? Give them money, make them rich, they will get rotten by themselves.
If Kayman is trying to compare the rip on Ming and the non-rip on Turkey, that would make this belong to here. But why did he have to open up a new thread? Anyway, Kayman, to be fair to Turkoglu, he did get 20pt, 7rb, 4a, and 2 steals. That's not "overrated" IMO.
that isn't embarrassing...this is: Angola beating Canada 84-74 that is horrible, but the canadians are missing practically their whole starting lineup: nash, magloire, todd-mac, kwiatkowski, and though he'll prob never play another game with canada (he played in '94), rick fox would be in the starting lineup. but that angola loss is just pure embarrassing.
another thing, i was thinking why chinese pro basketball sucks so much... because i've played against both college teams and on the playgrounds.... then i realized, the playgrounds have better players often and avg college player isn't that much better than a regular mofo you'll see in one of their 24 court bball arenas (need to accommodate all those people) in their big universities. so to add to my former post bout why chinese guards suck so much, just want to say that chinese pros suck in general because a lot of the better players can't get into that "in group" for some political reason or they're out trying to get some cash to actually provide for their family (pro chinese basketball players get paid nothing unless you're yao, bateer or wang)
