After speaking into watermicrophones and at chickencolleges, here's what I know! ********WEBBER************* Rockets - They feel like he's coming here. That's a fact. Contrary to popular opinion, they believe! Steve talks to him almost every day. They know all about the Orlando and NY rumors, but for one reason or another, they think he's coming here! Will he? Don't know but they did say that cap space is important to Sac, so they may feel like a sign and trade is not as big as we feel it 'should' be! ME - I don't know. I'm starting to buy into the SAC/ ORLANDO rumblings. Sac needs a point, PF and maybe a ...oh, I don't know, a Rookie of the Year? All I know is what a few certain people believe. **********SHANDON*************** Rockets - Don't know much here except that he's low on the priority list. If he walks, he walks. From my conversations, he's not walking or they just can't focus on that right now.\ ME - Feel the same - I don't lose sleep over Shandon. I like Shandon, but we can upgrade. Like I said, either way. If we do, our draft strategy will change! *********DRAFT****************** Rockets - Do they want to move up? HERE'S A BLOCKBUSTER!!!! YES!! Wow - breaking news! From direct conversation, the hope is that we trade ALL OF THE PICKS!! Trade them for one, trade them for #2's, or trade them for some corn on the cob - either way, trade them! I can flat out tell you this - at this point in time, as I write this post, the coaches DO NOT KNOW what's going to happen. If they don't know, WE DON'T KNOW! It's that simple. ME - I feel like we'll keep one pick at the least. We need a SF. I like Joe Johnson and Richard Jefferson, but they like Battier. I know there's no talk, but they like that kid! The conflict I have with Webber and Orlando is that there is supposedly a deal in place with another player that would prohibit Webber from going there. If that deal goes down, Webber CAN NOT goto Orlando...period! I think NY is a moot point. If they want to trade Camby and Houston for Webber, I say get in the deal, throw in some #1's, and let us have Camby and Houston. They can have Webber! Anyway, I've discussed these things with Clutch for over a week now and thought I should just post it. This is all I know..or at least all I can think of. I'll know about Bull in the next few days or so.... ------------------ Wait, there is another...

Damn. That is some deep info. BTW, Antonio Davis? ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors. Whoa!!!in the Joey Lawrence voice. It sounds like they want all the money they can get their hands on for Webber. What's the word on hakeem? Webber could help reduce the load on Hakeem making him last a season. ------------------
stop it Doc Rocket... I like Webber, but envisioning a Francis Mobes Houston Taylor Camby lineup would be pretty fun too. ------------------ snap crackle pop
We would be an even better Eastern Conference team than we are now! ------------------ "If you don't understand it, don't try to understand it." -Carl Everett
Wow, 16 minutes, and a Doc Rocket post doesn't even have a flaming folder yet, this really is the off-season. But back to my point, Antonio Davis to the Magic, but for whom? It stands to reason that Toronto would want to get what they see as a legitimate scoring option. Perhaps Darrell Armstrong? ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors. Thanks for the info Doc. I was thinking Sac might want the cap room as opposed to trading for Camby and Houston. A couple of questions... Why would Sac want Miller when they have Peja and Hedo? Why would they want Armstrong? They have a point they like in Jackson, and Williams is going to be hard to move IMO. Is the player Orlando might have a prearranged deal with Antonio Davis? ------------------
Thanx for the scoop Doc. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
How would Camby and Houston help the Rockets? I can see Houston as an upgrade to Shandon but Camby? In the WEST? Hell no. Tell NY they can keep his creaky bones in the frontcourt less EAST. ------------------ ``We need to FOCASS".... Akeem Olajuwon
He is better than what we have. Plus with Rudy and Carroll here, they can bulk him up like they did to Cato. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
I'm beginning to feel near certain we will not own the #13 pick-we will either trade up or away, or be struck by lightning (win 1, 2, or 3). Doc-There's one more category I'd like to see....the Cato Column. Can you tell us anything? ------------------ "That's been a lifelong dream of mine." -Vince Carter, after laying it in on a breakaway, much to the Vancouver crowd's displeasure.
CATO*************** Please!! My stomach...not feeling well...gotta go Cato!! OUT! ------------------ Wait, there is another...
Doc here is a wild question. Ok say the rockets get lucky and get top 3 pick. Which player do you see the Rockets taking? Do you think the rockets would trade up for a high school player or do they want Battier if trading up? ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Hey Doc Rocket any word on the Rockets wanting Eddie Griffin? ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Thanks Doc. Good stuff. I'll still bet that wherever CWebb goes, it'll be sign-and-trade. If he picks Houston, it sounds like the Rox wouldn't mind at all paring up a draft pick or 2 with an expiring contract (Mo?) to trade to Sacramento in order to get Chris his maximum possible salary. ------------------ We used to laugh at Grandpa when he'd head off and go fishing. wooohahahahahah ahahahhahahahah i'm dyin here hahahahahahhaha ------------------ "Wahooo"-homer I'm not only a fan but I'm also the bartender at clutchcity chat For the last time I'm not Tybrave!!!!!
Most teams would kill for Griffin right now . Hes such a versatile player . My guess is if we dont get Webber we some how get involved in where ever he winds up . ------------------ The Rocket Saint ST.eve Francis of a CC.net [This message has been edited by moestavern19 (edited May 17, 2001).]
Doc Partner sounds pretty good. lol! They want to move up at all costs to land Battier and pass on a big man from one of the best big men drafts in awhile? Battier is fine for me, but inside the 10 spot is too rich for my blood. So they are not mentioning Jefferson or Johnson, just Battier. Was that You or Rudy. You are going to make Achebe dizzy with that "Me". as for ME: stating that they are high on Battier sounds like a classic CD headfake to increase his value. Tell us Doc, are Rudy and CD really noted for stating their real preference before a draft. From Doc's comments, I definitely lose my bet with the BBS. Come on cc.net draft gurus, join the bet.
