I got in on 23andme before the FDA neutered them. There was tons more info before. I can still access the "archived reports" and they give a ton more info than they show now. For instance, I have an APOE e4 Alzheimer's gene, which I wouldn't have guessed, but I can't find that info on 23andme anymore. I also know that I don't have genes for a giant list of recessive heritable diseases. Now all I can find on 23andme in the new section is my chance of having a unibrow or the chance my ear wax is wet or dry. Great. I always appreciated that the info was never rock solid 100% in terms of the increased or decreased chances they gave you. There are tons of relevant genes for conditions that haven't been discovered yet, so how could it be? I guess FDA thought everybody had to be protected "best estimate" results.
