I just want to see if anyone can hook my wife up with some type of clerical job. She wants to start working again and I want to help her get a good stable job. She has a resume if needed. Let me know if anyone can do anything for her.

    Thank you,

I was the third brother of five,
Doing whatever I had to do to survive.
I'm not saying what I did was alright,
Trying to break out of the ghetto was a day to day fight.

Been down so long, getting up didn't cross my mind,
I knew there was a better way of life that I was just trying to find.
You don't know what you'll do until you're put under pressure,
Across 110th Street is a hell of a tester.

    Across 110th Street,
Pimps trying to catch a woman that's weak
    Across 110th Street,
Pushers won't let the junkie go free.
    Across 110th Street,
Woman trying to catch a trick on the street.
    Across 110th Street,
You can find it all in the street.

I got one more thing I'd like to y'all about right now.
Hey brother, there's a better way out.
Snorting that coke, shooting that dope man you're copping out.
Take my advice, it's either live or die.
You've got to be strong, if you want to survive.

The family on the other side of town,
Would catch hell without a ghetto around.
In every city you find the same thing going down,
Harlem is the capital of every ghetto town.

    Across 110th Street,
Pimps trying to catch a woman that's weak
    Across 110th Street,
Pushers won't let the junkie go free.
    Across 110th Street,
A woman trying to catch a trick on the street, ouh baby
    Across 110th Street,
You can find it all in the street.
    Yes he can, oh

Look around you, just look around you,
Look around you, look around you, uh yeah.

Question: When someone works for city/government, what actions could and usually get someone get fired for? Like sexual-harassment, drug use, etc..?

Just wondering b/c generally in private industry ppl get fired over not reaching performance goals, but didn't know what are the main reasons someone would get fired in a government type job.

stealing is usually the main reason people get fired here. there's really no performance goals working within the library system.

books and dvds. the previous two firings, one guy and girl was stealing dvds and selling them on ebay. the last firing, i overheard something about him losing a couple hundred dollars worth of books in his name and recorded it in our database as paid up, which of course wasn't the case.

they're weird here. an employee tried to hack in the server and was caught surfing p*rn while on the job. guess what, he still has a job.

Wow, they actually stole DVD's from the job and were selling them on Ebay while at the job? If so, that is pretty brazen. At my job, I've had people get written up for being on Ebay, but wouldn't think anyone would be stupid enough to sell stolen property under the same roof that it was stolen from.

The other guy was pretty stupid as well if he thought something like that would not get flagged. Was keeping his job really not worth paying up for the books he lost?

That's cool that you get to know why everyone gets fired at your job...here at my job everyone keeps everything so tight-lipped.
