I just got one from my school, it said I've been absent/tardy 3 or more times. Does this mean I have to go to court or something?
I got one of those back in high school. I had to go to court. Basically what happened was, I got my progress reports and report cards together and took them. The officer looked at them and saw some positive remark from one of my teachers, and he dismissed it. A couple of my friends got community service though.
first of all, quit skipping school. secondly... well, i hope your grades are in order, otherwise you have some CS headed your way.
If you were my kid, there would be a severe "live like a monk" type grounding in your near future. All you have to do is show up every day. A lot of kids act like that's such a difficult task. Jesus!
I take care of two little girls (my sisters). When I registered them for school, they told me what would happen if they missed so many days. I told my sisters what would happen if I had to go up to the school and talk to them about attendance. Scared 'em straight, I sure did.
It was my first one, but since I always wake up late I bother not to go to my first class then just show up in my 2nd period class
A. What district are you in? B. Shouldn't you have finals you should be studying for? C. It's really nothing to worry about, but for future reference, take a note saying you were sick and you'll be fine. They only do this on a high number of unexcused absences which is what I'm guessing happened to you. D. Find out if you have to do some sort of credit recovery cause they tend to make you either Do Community Service Serve D-Hall Take care if it, and you'll be fine.
Something tells me you aren't going to have this thing dismissed based on your grades or positive remarks from teachers.
Attendance? We talkin' attendance? Goodness. My kids haven't missed a day all year, or had a tardy. Grow up, peeps!
I would get to my first period literally 5 seconds after the bell rang and my teacher would make me get a tardy. 5 minutes later one of her favorite students would walk in and no big deal. I hated her. I made that class hell for her.
That's what every parent thinks. Ask my mom, and I never missed more than 2 days of high school for being sick.
I don't get what the big deal is about missing school?? If you're sick it's not a big deal, it's not like the teachers actually do anything other than tell you what pages to read and what problems to do out of the book or some washed up work sheet. Health > A lesson that can be done later.
