Way to jump to the worst possible scenario.

Puppies get sick, if it's only been a day, it's really not that big of a deal. Dogs usually get parvo from ingesting another dogs feces or in rare cases a mosquito bite.

Most likely your pup is constipated or something, if he doesn't return to normal in the next couple of days you should take him in.

    :p

    Try the following:

    1) Don't leave your shoes out where the dog can get to them. A closed closet works wonders here.

    2) Give the dog a long walk twice a day - Letting it run around will tire it out a bit, but a focused walk will tire it even more as the dog will be both exercising and concentrating on following you (make sure it isn't pulling on the leash)

    3) Gather the chew toys (or get some new ones - I recommend a Nylabone). Then get some treats. Put the bone/chew toy in front of the dog and wait. When the dog picks it up, say in a quiet high voice "Good boy" and give him the treat. Repeat a few times and he'll get the idea.

    4) Get a soda can and fill it with change. Keep it around you and when you see the dog mouthing something it shouldn't, run up to him, say in a loud deep voice "NO" and shake the can. Reserve this only for the most important items that should not be chewed; otherwise, it will lose its effectiveness.

Man, your first problem is watching a husky puppy. those things are like 2 year olds on crack.

It's tough to say what to do, since it isn't your dog. Pop it in the nose when it's bad. Not so hard that the thing will cower from you all day, but hard enough so it knows it did something you dont like.

Be dominate. Make sure it knows you're in charge. Dont let it alone to run around, crate the thing.

I have a malamute, thing is stubborn and hyper. You feel bad crating it and smacking it sometimes, but it's for the dogs own good... well, i feel bad bc it was my own dog, i'd have no problem putting that puppy in a crate for awhile.

Also, exercise the hell outta that thing. If your friend says it's ok, take it to a dog park for an hour or two.

Get a Kong toy, put some peanut butter in it and freeze it. The next day give it to the pup and it will be entertained for hours.

Also, stay away from rawhide bones. Those are not good AT ALL for a puppies stomach. If anything, buy Bully Sticks. It's a bull dick, dried up, but it's healthy and it does digest.

I'm raising a crazy Boxer pup right now and while it's 99% joy, that 1% can be irritating.

If I didn't know any better I would have thought a girl posted this.

Dog sitting, flip flops, boots (probably the kind "With The Fuuuuuuuur") cutest thing ever, light spanking, not wanting to hurt it physically.

Shouldn't dog sit when you're clearly not experienced with dogs.

Huskies are like the most high maintenance breed there is. And at that age, fuggedaboutit.

Now that you're in this quagmire, just put everything it chews on away and watch the dog like a hawk. Sucks, but you shouldn't have put yourself in this situation in the first place.

Or you could just put the dog in a potato sack and wack it with a shovel! :p

animals..especially dogs tend to react better to positive reinforcement than scolding. give the puppy a treat for behaving good rather than whooping it when it's bad.

it's chewing on stuff because its full of energy...it needs to walk..and exercise. then watch it sleep by your side.

Indeed. Forget spankings, forget spray bottles. Impressionable young dogs respond best to rape.

Puppies & unwanted sexual assault: that's just science. (Repeatedly cooing "No!" in the dog's ear truly is the most important part. Otherwise, they won't learn it's in their best interests/realize it's discipline.)

Walk the dog twice a day for an hour each. Wear his ass out completely and most if the bad stuff stops. If he isnt house trained, walking him helps with this but does'nt fix it entirely. When he does his business outside, give him a treat and pet on him. Never yell or spank a dog as it is the worst thing that you could ever do. Dogs work best with positive reinforcement.

Next get him something to chew on. I suggest the reall hard Nylabones. I suggest the one below:

    http://www.nylabone.com/product-finder/my-pet-is/dog-medium/double-action-chew.htm

I have a full grown Rottweiler that has never been able to eat it away and she's had it for 2 years. It was the bedt thing we ever bought.

I know the dog isn't yours but the owner should get him professionally trained. It makes for the very best dog owning experience. We use Man's Best Friend and highly recommend them.

Don't try to discipline a 3 month old puppy that isn't yours. Take it outside and tire it out.

And get your shoes off the floor or hide in the closet for the duration of the stay. Replace them with one toy or a bone. That's all you can do.

The puppy doesn't understand the difference between a juicy leather shoe and bone.

The first thing you need to do is pick up your ****. The pup will not chew what he can not get to. Secondly, don't try and discipline the dog unless you catch him in the act- if you find a slobbery shoe, sorry you missedyour chance to correct his behavior, because the pup has no idea why you are pissed.
