Help Burning DVD's

Hey guys I have an issue. I currently have DVD Shrink as well as Nero installed on my computer. I got a movie that has an .avi extension, now I want to turn that extension to whatever it is to make a DVD out of it. How do I do that? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
