Looking forward to seeing the start of one of the most promising rivalries. Grizz vs. Rockets. Pau vs. Yao. Congrats on striking gold with Yao. I told you all it takes is seeing if he had the attitude. It took Pau half a season to get his, Yao got his by simply destroying Shawn Bradley.

Oh yeah. We are just 8 1/2 back and climbing. See ya in the Tomb of Doom!

    Memphis,

    Did you hear this rumor?????

    FROM ESPN ROCKEST MESS. BOARD

    "

It was an interview on Jim Rome and Rome asked West what he thought of Yao and would he try to trade up to get him, West said, "I have offered the number 4 pick(Drew Gooden) Stromile Swift, Pau Gasol, Lorenzen Wright, Michael Dickerson and Jayson Williams, in exchange for their players who are running up the cap and need to be dumped like Glen Rice, Mo Taylor, etc. in exchange for the number one pick to get Yao. Houston declined."

Then Rome asked West if he were still with the Lakers would he try to get Yao? West said, "yes." Then Rome asked how would he have gone about getting that number one pick when all the Lakers really had to offer was Shaq and Kobe, or Horry, who lives in Houston, but since they have a log jam they would not want Horry, meaning Kobe or Shaq would be the only ones to trade for Ming. West replied, "I would do what I had to get Yao.

I just stole it from another poster on the bbs who stole it from the ESPN message board. That why I said it was a rumor but it just seemed like it belonged here in this thread.

Memphis did not make an offer for Ming. Jerry West stated from the jump once he figured he would get Jay or Gooden at #4 he did not want to move up or down.

Gotta love that sig...tell us Memphis X, are you going to post some more BS and not respond to anyone's remarks towards you like you usually do? It's kind of ironic how you post some of the most biased crap and thrash someone else for doing the same, especially when you come to someone else's board to do it.

Uh guys correct me if Im wrong, isnt he showing praise towards our team and being optimistic about his??? Whats wrong with that. Hubey has the Grizz playin 99% better. I dont see anything negative in his post about the Rox, however they are not a team to over look cause they have been bitting people in the Azz lately. Hopefully we stay focused and beat the team we are supposed to beat (grizz) that will be another giant step in the right direction from last year... GO Rox, good luck Memphis..

I can see it espically if you guys win the Lebron James lottery. You guys need one more guy in my opinion. Best Rival once the kings and lakers die away in a few years will be dallas and houston as the leagues best rivalarly.

hey that was a cool compliment. Memphis I hope your team gets up to the play offs one day with us. I'd love for your team to take the Jazz's spot.

    Memphis sucks!!

Jerry West or no Jerry West in just doesn't matter. The basketball Gods are looking down at the Rockets, so get used to it.
Damn, I feel good right about now.
    Go Rockets!! :)

Memphis did not make an offer for Ming. If you think any NBA GM went on record saying which players on his team he wanted to trade for another player, you are crazy. If you think JERRY WEST told Jim Rhome this you are even crazier.

Don't get to confident Rocket fans, long season ahead and playing in Memphis won't be a picnic tonight.

Think about it for a moment.

He IS a Memphis fan, isn't it to be expected that he would expect great things out of his team? Wouldn't you have something similar in your sig if you were at another team's site?

    I would.

He has every right to be optomistic, the Grizz have the best team they have EVER assembled.
I personally think yall are being too hard on the guy, we shouldn't try to run off fans of other teams...we should encourage rational discussion between fans no matter who they like.
Until he comes in and starts posting to try to start ****, yall should lay off of em.

    MemphisX,
I too am looking forward to this game, the Grizz are doin pretty good this year and this is EXACTLY the kind of game that the Rockets cannot afford to take lightly. They will need to continue their level of play if they hope to win tonite.

That being said, you know that we will win tonite..:D:p

That trade rumor was posted in another thread.

I highly doubt that someone like West, who has the utmost integrity, would come right out and use the media to name players that he offered for a trade.

Plus, I listen to Rome's show and I heard the segment when West was on a while back and didnt hear him say any of that.

My guess is, that was some ESPN poster trying to stir the pot by making stuff up. :D

    Exactly!

Only an idiot would publicly say stuff like that about their own players.
    West isn't an idiot.
    Another ESPN rumor.
