I'm a little late, but just saw it, and whenever I see a movie that I thought was much better than anticipated I post. The character grows on you, it's kinda funny, and the ending with the girl was smooth. Well done in my opinion. A nice little flic with a character who actually has some inner depth and deep issues to deal with. I want to see some more of HellBoy. I'd give it a B+ to an A. ok. I'm out.
I enjoyed it and I can't wait for the Director's cut DVD later this year. Also, I can't wait for the next 2 films as all movies come in trilogy form now.
i watched it on the plane, it just increased the air sickness 10 times i did watch road trip. it was word.
it was a good movie from a character standpoint. But plot wise it sucked. It didn't really suck as it got cheezier and cheesier as the movie progressed. But it was well acted.
I guess the name of the game is expectations. I wasn't expecting much. It was OK. I would rent it but I wouldn't buy the DVD.
I wasn't expecting much; was very pleasantly surprised with the characters (Selma Blair was extra good ). Thought the demon-dogs were uninspiring ... didn't we see them in Ghostbusters about 20 years ago? Anyway, I'd say it was a worthwhile watch. Unlike The League of Incredibly Boring Gentlemen.
I thought it was horrible. But then again, my expectations were high. I can't stand Selma Blair. She always looks sleepy. Good special effects, good acting (for the most part), crappy plot, very cheesy. Way too bad to be so very, very long.
I have to agree. I had heard it was good, I went in with so-so expectations... I thought it looked cool, so I spent $15 on it. The characters and effects were cool but the story was weak and it seemed to drag out. It didn't work for me at all. But Ron Pearlman rocked as Hell Boy.
