So are you getting this game and are we going to start a new league with it? I am debating on whether to get it or not. I played CM4 a pretty good bit but I don't want to end up with another buggy game. Any word on the stability of it and have you heard anything about it being a big improvement over $?

What is CM4? Is it that soccer game ya'll are always playing? Someone posted about a sim football game coming out, that might be fun.

CM is Championship Manager. It is a soccer simulator and a very addicting one. You can only get it by importing it and the new version is supposed to be out by the end of November.

I will probably get it, but I know I rather should wait to see the response at the board first. If not for the game I have being not good enough I would perhaps not buy an update already, so maybe it was a good idea to not make it perfect the first time around. :)

On the other hand if this game is also having rather big issues I should stay away, but the new game will for the first time ever have web exporting so it will probably be a big step in the right direction. It also reintroduces most all (if not all) of the left out features from the cm3 series that they did not see fit (time) to put in the revamped cm4 with a new game engine.

So all in all I will probably get it the week after like always. :)

But I will keep you posted.

They've added a few of the screenshots over at sigames. THey also dropped a hint that the demo will be out about the same time as the gold master is completed. Generally that happens about 14 days prior to release. With a Nov. 21 release date they are looking at having a demo out around Friday or Monday. I'll definitely be looking into th edemo to see how much improved the game is going to be. Some of the new features sound interesting. But so did the new CM4 features. They were interesting but so buggy that they weren't worth playing with. Like the saying goes fool me once...

I did play it for a few hours the first day and it looked cool. I tested the export to web thing to and it was both more and less than expected.

It only exports single htm pages and not a site like OOTP does.

But it does export some pages that our beloved textfiles did not, like the attributes pages (but not profiles with attributes). It did however lack the league stats that the textfiles provided.

But as a game it looked neat, but of course I only tested it for a few hours. Haven't read up on it on SI either so I dont know about any issues with gameplay it might have. I guess most short.-term issues are sorted as they were in EP5 too. It remains to see if they have fixed the longterm development of attributes for players though, so maybe I will check the site for these issues after the full game comes out. A half season demo will never show these issues anyway.

Thanks for the input. I will probably break down and pick it up but I will most likely wait until after Christmas.
