When is the last time anybody saw any of the Rockets big men dive or even hustle for a ball? I hate watching these big men play. Yesterday I payed close attention to Mo Taylor, both on offense and defense.(Almost forgot any other player was there) He never hustled. Most of the time he watched the ball rather than move his feet. It is funny to think that this was his best game. I will talk about Cato next time. At least the GUARDS have hearts.

    Bashing one after the other???

But I have to agree our big men rarely hustle, with the exception of maybe KT. Now only Dream has more rebounds then Stevie. How come??? A 6-3 guard getting 6 rebounds per game and almost leading the team??? There gotta be something wrong.

Maybe we need to send each of the big men a Hustlers [IMG]

    bigboymumu,

I can't believe you posted this - I had a similar post half completed but I nixed it because I thought it might be too much sour grapes.

I've seen a lot of Rockets games, and I've seen the Rocket's play worse than they did last night, but I don't think I've ever seen a more heartless performance. I'm not going to single out Mo Taylor, because I think it was more a team wide thing than individual. The effort of the Rockets in the 4th quarter last night was a disgrace. Young, inexperieced, lacking cohesiveness, tired, injured, WHATEVER, there is no excuse for lack of desire and hustle. We were letting Sonics players drive to the basket completely unhindered. NOT EVEN A FOUL FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. At least make them earn it.

I was sitting very close last night and at one stage in the 4th, when we had fallen to about 10 points down, Cat was bringing the ball down and he looks down court and smirks at Steve like its some kind of freaking joke. Real funny Cat, look at the scoreboard.

Now I am an extremely devoted Rockets fan -I have and will support my team through thick and thin. I understand that young teams need to grow, and I understand that we will go through extended bad patches, but as a passionate supporter, it is very difficult to see what appears to be a lack of heart, and let it go without comment.

That is exactly my point. I don't care how young a team is, they should never come up short on effort or desire. Look at last year's Magic. They played hard every game. If the Rockets put in that level of intensity every game, with the talent they have, they could win 50 games. I've only seen 2 or 3 games this year when they played that hard.

Cato- Man, I am so sick of everybody saying how much potential he has. He is never going to have a heart. People say that he never had chance to play at Portland so we should treat him as if he is a rookie. Oneal never had any significant playing time in Portland but he is doing just fine in Indiana. No matter how long we wait this guy will not grow a heart so ship him out right now. I will take anybody in return that hustles. I much rather watch someone who is not as talented but brings it every night. I would pay to see that. What a shame, the franchise deserves better big men.

The Rockets without a dominant big man is like the Jazz without Stockton and Malone.
