I have been secretly rooting for the Rockets to lose as many games as possible in order to get a prime lottery spot and come back strong next year.

However, I have been absolutely LOVING Yao taking the team by the short hairs and becoming a dominate player.

It is quite the quandry, on one hand I want the best team for next year as this one is clearly over, but on the other, I so love watching the team's chemistry come together without Tmac.

So, I am officially changing my stance, I don't care if we finish at the bottom of the lottery, I want Yao to continue to dominate, and the rest of the team to get comfortable in their roles, and I hope they win every single game the rest of the way.

I know, I know, not smart, but dang....Yao and the team are really coming along lately.

    What say everyone else?

Don't we have a tank or pride poll already?

I suggest we lock this one.

I could never root for my team to lose, but now the outcome of games don't really effect me like they would if we were going to be in the playoffs. Before I would live and die by the result but now I'm more indifferent to them.

Also I don't think losing would really help us that much since this years draft isn't looking too good.

head got us the twin towers and potentially couldve created one of the greatest dynasties ever if we'd drafted right.

Such a difficult choice; I really enjoy watching the Rockets win; it's even more satisfying when you know we're the underdog in most of our games now.

But on the other hand, I really do like Lil' Luther quite a bit. He's got winning instinct, and I'm not as concerned with his ballhandling as some are; remember that Devin Harris of the Mavs was benched against us last year in favor of Darrell Armstrong because Mike James kept taking the ball away from him; now people are saying Harris should be taking minutes away from Jason Terry.

Heart or Head... such a difficult choice, especially since my Heart tells me Head is the best choice for the future...

In the end, I'll go with Heart for this season, Head for the future potential...

But head got us the franchise player that we built around. If we had played with heart we wouldve gotten stuck with the #2 pick and probably sam bowie which wouldve wrecked our franchise

Yes, but Head(allowing us to draft Hakeem) was the reason why we even had a chance to win those championships. It also allowed the Spurs to win 3 in the past decade, allow the Cavs to become respectable again, and gave the Rockets hope to be more than a mediocre team. Granted, no one in this draft are at the same caliber as Duncan/Lebron/Yao. But neither of those teams had a nucleus the caliber Yao+T-Mac.

Heart wins championships, but tanking gets you the players to even have a chance to win championships.

However, this years draft there is no clear cut top pick, nor is there much difference between 1 and 12....there are a lot of GOOD players, but none that seem to be SUPERSTAR players...at least can't tell now.

I would be very pleased with JJ Reddick...or such in the middle of the first round.

Technically, that is incorrect. Back in 1984, the teams with the worst records in each conference would meet and have a coin-flip for the top overall pick. After the Rockets had finished tanking their way to the worst record in the conference, it was a 50-50 shot on whether we would get the top pick there. No head or heart about it.

In fact, your point really makes it even more obvious why you play with heart; look at what tanking did for the Blazers! Who knows, maybe if we had played with heart down the strech, we would have gotten Barkley at #5, don't go to the finals in '86, Ralph doesn't get injured, and build a dynasty in the late '80s with a young center that was so dominating that Portland was willing to trade Drexler or the #2 overall pick for.
