you guys are telling me you'd rather be the astros, who now suck, rather than being the florida marlins?
like others have said if we are healthy then we are winning championships with this group. I just don't see who can beat our defense if we are healthy. our offense will be very good but this defense will be dominating if everyone is healthy. I can't wait to see what it will be like with battier and artest out there.
exactly, you'd rather be the jazz and never win although they're always competitive. even when yao or tracy leave, i'm sure we'll have another superstar to build upon.
What's the point of having good health if they're not going to win a championship? I'd take the trophy every time, even if it means having to rebuild soon after.
Personally i would rather take the championship then just being competitive for several years straight. Actually the pistons are in this situation right now and they agree its championship or nothing.
With where this franchise is right now, you have to take a championship because right now, this franchise is known by people and it exists, but it's not relevant because of the lack of playoff success (no playoff series win since 1997) Right now, the Houston Rockets are in the same position of seeking playoff success and championships as are the Dallas Cowboys (Cowboys haven't won a playoff game since December 1996) You know, there was a time in the 1990's in the State of Texas where both the Houston Rockets and Dallas Cowboys were kings in their sport and they captivated the sports landscape with their championships and great players and coaches (Cowboys had Smith, Aikman, Irvin and coach Jimmy Johnson / Rockets had Olajuwon, Drexler, Smith and coach Rudy T) Oh yeah, and the quotes that defined the successes of these 2 franchises during their era is legendary: So right now, for the Rockets (and Cowboys respectively) you have go for the championship while you have the players you got and the coaches you have and while the successes of the Dynamo and Comets since 1997 can not be ignored or devalued, a Houston Rockets championship would break out mass celebrations all across Southeast Texas and a championship parade would bring out millions from across Southeast Texas to Downtown Houston to be a part of the great joy of being a champion!
But is your scenario this: 5 years of health and NO Championships or 1 Championship Because if it is, then it's pretty obvious what the choice should be.
No I think that's where the confusion is. Five years with no guarantees aside from perfect health. With this roster and good health, I have a hard time seeing us not win at least one ring, though I'd imagine we'd have more. And this team is better than the j*zz and was when healthy last year.
I would take the health becasue I think if we had that for five full season we will win atleast two championships.
But heres the thing if we are healthy for the next five years, you really don't think we can pull off atlease one ring?
I don't really undestand the poll. If we are healthy the first year, they would have a better chance of winning a championship. How can they win 1 championship, if Yao or T-mac miss the playoffs again?
