It seems like a few of you guys dont realize the Magic do not want any players just cap space. They simply want to dump whatever they can for future draft picks so Davis can get paid. I think you're perpetuating an urban legend. If I remember it right, there was a test for all players who showed up for physicals at the Chicago pre-draft camp to see how many times you could bench press 185 pounds. Somehow, that got twisted around in message-board land into "Brendan Haywood can only bench press 185 pounds." Fact is, I remember reading that Haywood won the "contest" by bench-pressing 185 pounds more often than anyone else. ------------------

That's why the Clipper's didn't just trade the Tyson Chandler for Elton Brand, they had to include Brian Skinner to make the deal work salary wise. ------------------
Langhi, with a price tag of around $400k, will not bring back anything NEAR his value in return. The only way I'd trade him is either to get a good center or to package with Cato to open up more cap space. Otherwise, I don't care if we have a glut of small forwards, Langhi should stay a Rocket. ------------------
The Magic can trade players under contract for picks as long as it is to a team with sufficient cap room or a large enough trade exception. Thus, the Rockets have the cap room to take on Haywood and Outlaw. There is no way the Magic will take on Walt or any other player under contract for Outlaw b/c their goal is to clear cap room. In order for the Rockets to acquire Haywood/Outlaw plus re-sign Olajuwon and Taylor, they may or may not have to unload KT, it will depend on Hakeem and Mo's asking price. I personally think Haywood is terrible but getting him as a throw in so he can basically serve as insurance if anyone gets injured isnt a half bad idea. The part of this deal that I find very appealing tho is having Bo Outlaw take Kenny Thomas's spot in the rotation. The amount of support KT gets on this bbs still irks me, the Rockets can do so much better. Imagine this quartet of forwards: Maurice Taylor, Bo Outlaw, Eddie Griffin, Terence Morris. If we could get Bo Outlaw, that would be HUGE. I know Houston fans have always loved Bo, and I'm under the impression that Rudy does as well. He played college here, and he'd be a very welcome addition. If he can play C, we could have that problem solved for a while . . . And I would take Haywood thrown in as well. I have been down on Brendan as the next Ostertag, but I still think that he could be quite a player if he really puts his mind to it. I would like to give Langhi another chance but if we could get him for Ken Johnson I would go for it. If we fail to get a center in free agency or via a trade then we should explore the chances of getting Nate Huffman. Haywood is an underachiever who might turn out to be another Cato. ------------------
