Haynesworth is the biggest POS in the NFL, him, TO, and Pacman, have been duking it out for the top spot for the past few years now. We'll see your fat ass in week 2.
I'm surprised some football player hasn't gone Latrelle Sprewell yet. They take 10 times the abuse that NBA players do, are trained to hurt an enemy, and a significant amount of them are roided up. One day someone's going to snap and break a guy like Shanahan in 2.
I don't understand why Washington would invest $32 million plus in Haynesworth then basically switch to a defense that calls for to be a mere gap filler that doesn't really maximize his skill-set. They have as big or a bigger financial investment in him than they do in Shanahan, who was able to win 2 super bowls with a 4-3 scheme, btw.
I'm guessing that most of them are just conditioned to take it. Football coaches are pretty abusive at every level. Wasn't there some high school coach who was murdered by a former player?
I guess....either way Shanahan is basically guaranteeing that their investment in Haynesworth will never be recouped due to his rebirth as a guru of the 3-4 alignment....so...good job?
I'm guessing they're thinking longterm, and Haynesworth is not a part of that plan, as much as they wanted him to be. Bad timing on their part with the Haynesworth signing, but what is new for the Redskins? Crappy management has been their undoing for the last 20 years.
Sounds like Haynesworth isn't a good fit with the new system. I think they both handled poorly: Haynesworth should act like a professional and Shanahan should trade him for a player that better fits the system.
Is Haynesworth really such a terrible fit for a 3-4? I mean, obviously his personal stats (i.e., sacks) are going to take a hit, but I imagine the amount of attention a DT of his size and ability could only be a good thing for Washington's linebackers
But unless management told him when he signed that he'd be playing strictly a 4-3 defense (and they might've), I'd say he's firmly in the wrong here, yeah? I could sort of understand it if it was a contract year, but he's already made his money.
Yes, the player was diagnosed with paranoia schizophrenia a week before he murdered him. Ed Thomas was a local hero who was beloved by the entire town. He and his family were given the Arthur Ashe award during the ESPY's this year. Was actually a pretty moving story.....I recommend you find the video online and watch it.
