    This from ESPN Insider....

Hawks dump Glover: The Hawks continued their housecleaning Wednesday when they waived Dion Glover. Glover asked to be released after practice on Wednesday. He was upset about losing his starting job to rookie Boris Diaw after the Hawks traded away Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Theo Ratliff.

A source close to the Hawks told Insider recently that Glover, along with point guard Jason Terry, were among the most disruptive players on the team. Glover should clear waivers by Friday and be free to join a team of his choosing.

I don't know what caused his behavior, but it can't be good. I remember some poster(s) wanted Terry instead of Francis... no thanks.

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Hawks agreed Wednesday to Dion Glover's request and released him from his contract, general manager Billy Knight said.

Glover, a 6-foot-5 guard from Georgia Tech and Cedar Grove High in metro Atlanta, was the Hawks' No. 1 draft pick in 1999, the 20th selection overall. In five seasons, he averaged 8.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 273 games with 101 starts.

In 55 games this season, Glover had career-bests of 10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting only 39.1 percent from the field. He scored a season-high 23 points at Phoenix on Nov. 12 and ended his Atlanta career with six points in three minutes of action during the Hawks' 86-75 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.

Glover's an idiot. Double-figure average or not, no playoff team is going to pick him up, and he'll be NBDL fodder next fall.

Why pay more for a 25-year old SG project with a history, when you could sign a rookie project for much less money?

    Raptors sign Glover, waive Baxter
    Feb. 28, 2004
    SportsLine.com wire reports

TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors signed guard Dion Glover for the remainder of the season Saturday, waiving forward Lonny Baxter to make room on the active roster.

The Raptors also announced that guard Alvin Williams, who has missed the team's last three game with a knee injury, was placed on the injured list.

Williams is averaging 8.9 points and 4.1 assists in 54 games this season.

Glover, in his fifth NBA season, was waived by the Hawks on Wednesday. He averaged 10.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in 55 games with Atlanta during the current campaign.

Baxter came to Toronto in a six-player deal from Chicago earlier this season.

He averaged 4.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 36 games with the Raptors.
