Hey, I saw in the Chronicle that Juaquin Hawkins was released by Golden State. I loved that guy, and we could get him for cheap. Don't know if there is any room on the roster though.

Mateen Cleaves got released by Boston too. Much rather have him than the Mooch.

If we have room on the roster I wouldn't mind adding him in. He'd probly only get garbage time.. and his skills are kinda redundant with some other players we have.. which was the reason he was released by the warriors in the first place. BUT, it would be nice to have him as an option to stick on somebody just to keep them annoyed.

Mike is a better option and we already have him on the roster.

In a game, there are 48 total minutes at both the SF and SG positions for a total of 96 minutes.

    My conservative estimates:
    Mobley - 36 mpg @ SF/SG
    Francis - 6 mpg @ SG
    JJax - 20 mpg @ SF/SG
    Piatkowski - 14 mpg @ SF/SG
    Adrian Griffin - 14 mpg @ SF
    Nachbar - 6 mpg @ SF
    Total mpg = 96

Good luck to the Hawk, but (barring major injury) the need for a one dimensional player is not that strong.

There is a reason he was released by the Warriors, it's the same reason he didn't get much playing time here after the beginning of last season.

    He sucks.

i think people have a tendency to glorify players that arent all that special for the sake of....something, i have no clue what. they were cut bc they werent good. i liked oscar and tierre and juaquin but they werent good enough to stay on the team. if they were theyd be ON the team. 12th man at best

at the same time, just because players are cut doesn't automatically mean they suck relative to the players who do make the team. For example, the fact that Amaechi is on the team doesn't mean that he's better or more valuable to us than guys like Hawkins, etc. Amaechi has only two things over Hawkins 1) he's a big man and we can use a fifth big man. 2) he has a guaranteed contract.

Really, it's only #2 that matters. If Amaechi was competing against Hawkins on an equal non-guaranteed contract footing, I bet it'd be another story.

Wow, GATER, I hope Piatkowski gets more minutes than that!
I agree that, with the squad we have now, there just isn't a spot for Hawkins. And, on a side note, does Amaechi really have boobs??

I was sad to see Hawk not on this team, and now that he's been cut again, I feel bad. The guy had great work ethic, focussed on defense, and did the little things. I hope he gets picked up soon.

    Deckard -
The operative word in my post was conservative. It served to demonstrate the lack of room or need for the Hawk (whom I like but feel will be soon be forgotten once AGriff shows his ability to D-up).

I'm optimistic Pike will approach his career average of 20.5 mpg more than my 14 mpg but Piatkowski's PT is hugely impacted by the minutes of Mobley and Francis (when at SG), injuries, game situational needs (O vs D) and the fact he turned 33 this past September 30th.

I would like to have Hawk in the team but I think we are already load up on that position.
