For the past few nights Ive been having trouble sleeping. I feel tired, but when I get in bed I dont fall asleep. So I watch television or come on here and **** around. Yesterday I didnt sleep, and im still not asleep right now, obviously. What is this poor lad to do ?
im with you on this one, fell asleep while working for an hour at 10 and here i am at 4 am wide awake. ive just been working and screwing around on here the entire time. besides substance abuse, alcohol, and sex, the only other way for me to get to sleep is to read something really boring. However, im still awake, so this doesn't always work. ironically, my dad is in the pharmeceutical business and is working on sleep drugs.
i also have trouble sleeping, for me the best thing to do s to go to bed, and read a book. If i do that i sleep alot better. Good Luck
I have terrible insomnia and the best remedy I have is to pop a few Tylenol PM`s. I have also used Unisom which does not have any pain reliever medicine and its really good stuff. I refrain from any naps and never drink soda past 6pm
I used to have trouble sleeping, I would just be up with terrible anxiety. Everything that was going wrong was constantly running through my head. I think all that lack of sleep has caught up with me because I always conk out around midnight. I can't help it, I just get really tired all of the sudden, regardless of how much I slept the night before. I tend to wake up around 4 or 5 now, without any help from an alarm.
Having trouble sleeping? Let me sleep for you. While I'm at it, you can do some of my work. Please? I don't have any trouble sleeping at all and I'm usually gone as soon as my head hits the pillow. Not that I allow myself very many chances to do so.
I just recently started using Sleepytime Extra Tea http://www.celestialseasonings.com/products/wellness/ste.php It works really well for me. Let the teabag steep in the boiled water for at least six minutes. I add a little bit of honey to sweeten it up...of course as Tex points out there are other 'erbs also. The valerian is the schizz. http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Valerian.asp#h6
Most of my life I've had a hard time falling asleep. Hot milk helps sometimes, or trying to read Kant late at night. Lately I've discovered how hard it is to sleep pregnant. One thing that JV and I discovered is Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. It is a 457 page book on the subject that puts us right to sleep. If it doesn't work in the same manner as Kant, you might get far enough into it to discover some of the unhealthy sleep habits you may have picked up along the way and some excellent advice in how to counter them.
I actually have the reverse problem. I can go to sleep just fine, but once I am asleep, after about 4 hours, my brain starts powering up for the day and it won't stop... I can't sleep well after that.... And then I'm tired as hell for the rest of the day because I actually have to put energy into sleeping at night.
Well, I hope you guys relish every minute of sleep from here til then Edit: How stupid of me, New Years Day, that is gonna be awesome.
There is a better way. I used to be an insomniac, going to bed at 3 am and had to wake up at 8 am... life was pretty much a blur being half awake. I used the tylenol pm and nyquil tricks but they leave you very drowsy. But someone introduced me to Melatonin, and TRUST me, it works. I guarantee you'll thank me later. You'll have better sleep than normal sleep, and it's easy to wake up. Buy the melatonin from Schiff (it is the best type, other types may leave you a lil drowsy) Trust me, it'll change an insomniac's life and it is worth trying out at least. It's not only for insomniacs, my friends use it when they have wake up early and thus go to bed earlier than usual. Anyways, give it a shot. Its not very expensive and isn't harmful.
