When Austin Rivers goes 10-13 against you it's a fluke. That's 77% shooting. I mean come on.

When J.J. Redick goes 11-14, it's also a fluke, even considering as good a shooter he is. No player on the planet can sustain that performance.

Exactly . Before the third even though the Clippers were dominating the game the difference was only 6-10 points.
The Rockets hadn't gameplanned for Rivers. They focused on Griffin pressuring him and they let the Clippers bench beat them. Becaue their bench is their weak point. A lot of ingame adjustments could have been made like some hacking to stop the momentum and take the air out of the game, but the final score and this match is not the end all.
We still have a LOOOOONG way to go.

I get the whole you have to be an optimistic fan and all but lets face it the Clippers are better than us all around, its ok to admit that. Not giving up myself either but lets face it the Rockets are done.

what the optimists doesn't get is it's not that we are down 1-2 that makes this team's future bleak but "how" we lose games that give us fans no hope. if we played solid but the other team just happened to outplay us and we lose, that's fine, everyone can live with that result. but not with this bull****. from idiotic coaching decisions to lackluster defense to careless turnovers to our supposed superstar not showing up... this just smells like train wreck and there is nothing we can do about it, at this moment.

Why should we have faith in a team where nobody takes responsibility and players and McHale keep things lightly, say it just wasn't there, shrug it off and act like things are magically going to change in the next game. There's no fight in this team, no pride, no accountability, no leadership and no willingness to work hard.

Are you serious?? Look man, there is nothing wrong in losing, but lose with your dignity intact. We did NOT do that.

We gotta play so hard that the Clips go home thinking "Yeah they pushed us right till the end, and we scraped through. They were tough as hell. Don't EVER wanna play them again!!!". The way we're playing, the Clippers, and every single person out there is thinking "What a bunch of bums. Getting paid millions and ripping fans off. I would LOOOOOOVE to destroy those fools down in Houston."

Lose with dignity and pride. We lose like meek, heartless fools. The Spurs lost, but they didn't lose like us. It took some godly game-winner by CP3 to get through them. It takes Austin frickin Rivers to beat us. Is this some joke???

    exactly.

losing is nothing. losing like this, and twice in a same series, says a lot about the makeup of this team.

Sadly, part of me feels like the organization is ok with us losing this series. With all the trouble we've had in the playoffs since... Well, the 90s... Getting a first round win and losing to a talented team that beat the Spurs is viewed as acceptable, even though this team should strive for more. We have the talent, but need some better game plans and make your f'ing free throws and maybe throw in a made 3 here or there, please

Someone needs to light a fire... They look uninspired, and no playoff intensity IMO

Welp, I've seen two championship parades in downtown Houston. One in 94, the other in 95. Those are now old memories, but at least I know what they look and feel like. I don't see another parade happening anytime soon, unless it is the Texans, maybe the Astros...like I said I don't see another one happening anytime soon.

Yep, wait until after game 4 before having that knee jerk.

The Clips just beat the World Champ Spurs on the last possession in a 7 game series so it should surprise no one if they beat the Rox in 5 or 6 games.

Really? He scored 17 on the Rockets in Game 1 and went 4-6 from 3-point land. And that was as the starter in place of Paul, so he wasn't going up against our backups(who've been dreadful this series). So I disagree. He absolutely could do this again. So can Redick. And God help us if Barnes or Crawford goes off.

The reason this is happening is not because of some fluke. The Rockets have played no defense in the playoffs. We're giving up 116 points per game this series so far. 116 points! And we're not the Nash Suns or the 1980's Nuggets teams that can drop 130 in their sleep. If we don't hold teams to 100 or fewer points, we're not gonna win on most nights.

And before anyone says it's because the Clippers are a bad matchup or are on fire after their win over the Spurs, keep in mind that we were getting torched by a decrepit Mavs team that was in turmoil in the previous round. They averaged 110 points per game against the Rockets. And a scrub like Barea was killing us just like Austin Rivers is now.

This isn't bad luck or some sort of coincidence. The Rockets are getting torched because they're making no effort on the defensive end of the floor.

Still we were surprised when they went on that 23-0 run.

nah, this team is clearly not on the level of the 7 remaining contenders.

im against blind faith. rockets defense has been terrible all playoffs. how are they gonna get past the clippers if they dont play defense?

ofc i'll be watching the next game but wow two games in a row the rockets' play was wild. extreme highs and lows, like its bipolar. thats now how you do things

It's 2-1 and everybody is ready to jump off a cliff? I don't know how you guys would have made it through the championship seasons. In 95, we were down 3-1 to the Suns, which included 2 serious beat downs in Phoenix, yet we still won the series.

I don't know if this team has that in them, but you guys should wait to see how it plays out before writing the team off entirely.

Unfortunately we don't have hakeem, and most of these posters probably only remember tmac, lol. However I agree that we should wait till it's over. I know in 95 our "fans" did the same **** in the phx series (after the suns were up 3-1). Houston hasn't played their game yet, so if we get even close to regular season shot back, Houston can win this still.

The 1995 team had Dream. They'd won a title before and had come back from huge deficits to win playoff series including against the Suns.

This Rockets team has shown me nothing to have that kind of faith in them. We're 8 games into the playoffs and they still refuse to play any defense.
