Well The Prisoner of Azkaban starts this Friday and was wondering if anyone was going to go watch it. I will. It has an 88% fresh rating on rottentomatoes.com Alfonso Cauron did an outstanding job it looks like. I'm also pretty pumped about The Goblet of Fire which will be directed by Mike Newell(Traffic,Four Wedding and a Funeral,Donnie Brasco)
Will probably wait for the video release of Prisoner. As for future Potter stories/films, as long as Hermione doesn't end up with that creep Viktor Krum, I'll be fine. Haven't read Order of the Phoenix yet... no spoilers, please!
Newell didn't direct Traffic, by the way. Steven Soderbergh did (won an Oscar for it and everything). Newell was an executive producer on that film. I've heard good things about the Azkaban movie, though I don't imagine I'll see it.
Yes, so he can come in here and post "it sucks". I am looking forward to it as is my 5 year old son. DD
My six year old graduates from Kindergarten tomorrow and we plan to go see it this weekend (pending Dad's availability) as an extra treat to cap off a great week.
I can't wait. It's been long enough since Chamber came out... I plan on seeing it with my whole family (as has been the tradition with Harry Potter and LOTR). And as a bonus, DT might even come.... After such a long campaign of protest, I think he's actually starting to like the Harry Potter series.
stupidmoniker the 3rd and 4th book to me are the best. so hopefully the films will follow in that patern also. i like the books in this order. book 4 best book 3 2nd book 1 3rd book 2 last. havent read the 5th book yet. (wating for paperback)
I'll go and see it. They're pretty good films, even though I've never read the books. BTW, what happened to Nomar? Was he banned, or did his hatred of LOTR drive him mad and he left in a fit of rage?
McClain and crew are going to a screening Wednesday night. Then we (minus the kids) are going to Caliendo on thursday. Then (again sans kiddos) to Aerosmith and Cheap Trick Friday. What a week! Oddly enough I am most excited about the Potter movie.
My wife said that Prisoner was her favorite of the books and she has read them all. We will be going to see the movie with our babysitter's daughter on Friday afternoon.
I am excited to see these movies. They are a ton of fun and we will all go see them this weekend I'm sure. I probably like these movies more than my kids do and that is saying a lot.
Yeah well the first two books are mediocre. But books 3 and 4 are great. Book five, unfortunately, not so good.
I wish my girlfriend liked the Potter series. I don't think I'll be able to see it until it hits the video circuit.
I'm seeing it this weekend. I am also looking forward to GOF. It is the best book so far IMO. Wont there be a whole new cast for GOF?
The first 2 movies sucked. Hopefully, without Chris Columbus as director, we'll finally get a decent Harry Potter movie. I have high hopes for this movie, as Prisoner of Azkaban is definitely the best book of the series (so far). My wife and I are going to see this on Saturday night. I can't wait!
