OK true to my word from a previous thread, I purchased Freedom Force. It is a game based on a fictitious 1960's comic book where you control the heros and fight against evil. It is very "Batman TV showish" but extrememly entertaining and fun to play. One of the best features is actually the reason I am posting. The makers of the game have made available for download the character maps. So as I promised earlier my first creation was to make the infamous "Hangout Boy" . Below are some links to a front and back picture of my character. Any similarities between my guy and our very own "Hangout Boy" are purely coincidental. (trust me the hilarity of the previous sentence will abound as soon as you look at the pictures). I hope to have some action shots to show tomorrow. When I get them I will post them. http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/hangout_boy1.jpg http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/hangout_boyback.jpg CK
That's it! When Castor was first showing us the characters he created in chat I was thinking the Hangout Boy character looked familiar, but I just couldn't put my finger on what it was that "Hangout Boy" reminded me of.
It has been suggested that Imake a character of DaDakota. If i get some time over the next couple of days I may do it. If anyone has some suggestions on character traits costume etc let me know and I will try to add them to it CK
Castor, How is the game? I really haven't heard much about it, and I was wondering what you think. If you have time, do you think you could write up a mini-review on it? Thanks, B
Sure B no problem. Here it is: First of the game is really fun. I have played thru about 8-10 missions with some of them being pretty difficult and some being fairly easy. The learning curve is great. You have 2 choices when you start the first mission. You can choose to go one route that gives you the basics of gameplay or you can just jump right in and start the mission( I chose the first option and the game does a great job of showing you how to control your guys). The game is classified as an RPG. It is mission based similar to quests in Diablo 2 the difference being that after each quest (some of them are actually pretty in depth) you return to "Freedom Hall" where you receive your exp points. In typical RPG fashion your characters receive upgrades and new skills. The thing about this game though is that it is actually fun to play. The story is good. I catch myself laughing out loud at some of the campy dialogue. It has a very Justice League(the old one not the updated version that comes on now) feel to it. It is very open ended as well. You can create your own characters with their own stats and such. They have even included instructions in the character editor to tell you how to make your own custom animations(I don't have a talent for this so I have not even tried it). I have not tried multiplayer yet but I probably won't use it much. It consists of getting online and battling it out. You get 4 heros and they get four heros and you fight(something that does not interest me. I would prefer getting online and contrling one hero and fighting thru some of the missions. IMO it is definetly worth the $39.99 i paid. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Also if you pick it up this is by far one of the better sites I have seen for it. Freedom Force Center they have lots of character sins to DL and other stuff that should help you with the game. IF you have anymore questions post them and I will do my best to answer them. CK
Dolph Lundren would be a nice look for me. However, Andy Richter and I are said to look a lot alike. DaDakota
SF3 hooked me up with the link to your profile picture on your website. I may try to use that to help with the look. CK
No, I get to keep my identity a secret if I choose, since I managed to not piss off Clutch ... unlike someone else around here.
