I have been reading about this since it first became news. Apparently Hall is afraid that Oates is going to try to sell back the rights to their catalog which is what he is against. I have always suspected that Hall has always been the more talented one and that was somewhat confirmed by what I read. Not only did he do all of the singing but apparently he wrote about 80% of the songs. Oates isn't even the main guitar player for many years - it was G.E. Smith!! So this is more or less a business arrangement between the two. Oates is one of these guys that was born on third base and thought he had hit a triple to get there, LOL.
