As much as this hurts (and it really does hurt, coming from someone who was there for games 3 and 4 against the Magic in the Summit in 1995), this is good for Hakeem, and good for the Rockets. Onward toward the next championship! kgw
Although Hakeem's era unofficially ended after Francis' inaugural season, this moves makes it all but final. Hakeem and Houston have been synonomous for over two decades, and have had an interesting relationship. One thing is for sure; he will always be remembered as a Rocket and never be forgotten for what he did for the city. His last game in the pinstripes was vintage Dream, and let us hope he provides basketball fans with more of those this coming season. God bless in Toronto, Hakeem. Well Dream ends an era for the Rockets and allows the team to start another one. Two things: 1. At least it's clear HE chose this and the team's positon is understood by the fans. They're released from a very uncomfortable position. 2. Hopefully the speculation is true that the compensation is picks and exception--not trash cap eaters. ------------------
Good Luck Dream! Thanks for all the memories and the two championships. We'll miss you. ------------------
My feelings: Good luck Hakeem.... had you waited two or three more days I would have been cursing you. You are an absolutely horrible decision maker! Your incredible relentlessness and inner confidence won the Rockets two championships. This offseason, your incredible relentlessness and inner confidence have really ticked us all off. I guess we have to take the good with the bad. My prediction for Hakeem's final years in Toronto: I don't believe that Hakeem is a very adventurous or sociable person. I think that is one big reason why he has become so attached to Houston. Also, he has said in the past many times that he wants to play for a team that is in a hot climate, like Houston and his home before that. Those two things lead me to believe that he will get homesick pretty fast and his stay in Toronto won't be a happy one. I don't wish this on him, but I can't help thinking that it will come true.
I saw it on , Sportscenter, but i guess they were wrong ------------------ mgh 1924 - 2001 http://www.al-gore-2004.org/
The Raptors don't HAVE to give up ANYTHING so why would they give up Clark if they don't have to. Radio reports are that it IS a sign-and-trade for a draft pick and the exception. ------------------ Who's your buddy? Who's your pal? I am, aren't I?
Because if Hakeem has any CLASS LEFT IN HIM, he would like the Rockets to get something decent in return. I don't think a bad draft pick and a trade exemption counts? Toronto more than likely will loose Keon after this season, to FA anyway!!! ------------------

That goes to me too! At least we know that he is going with a contender team. Both team got benefited on this deal. Good luck to the Dream!! ------------------ Rudy T. will find and fulfill Rockets destiny.
Good luck, Hakeem "the Dream" Olajuwon. I'll still keep the poster of you, Barkley, and Drexler on my wall. ------------------ There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.
Time to move on ------------------ Women can not fart, belch or burp...therefore they must b**** or they will explode.
I don't think Hakeem cares if the Rockets get anything out of it. Remember, this is the same guy who says he wants a chance to play in the Finals yet has said the Rockets are a championship contender if they resign everyone. I feel sick. We didn't trade the guy when we could've gotten fair value, as a service to Hakeem. He's been a part of the city forever. And he still hasn't said a damn word, instead speaking through Devil Fegan the whole time, who manages to speak to the outside like once? Hakeem's better than that. Maybe I'll understand when he gives his Toronto interview, and explains. But for now, I can't cheer the guy, no matter what he did. I can't boo him, but I'd prefer Toronto spins their wheels for the next 3 years than win it all. This is just a horrible way for Hakeem to go out. Screw a couple picks. We're left with freaking Collier and Cato as our centers, with the option of getting Marc Jackson on some insane long term deal. This sucks. I'd rather tell Fegan to go #%&# himself. ------------------ "I think the organization was looking at it from a business point of view, which is only a very small picture. Well, Dream got his. I hope he's happy in Toronto, and they are happy with him. Somehow I doubt either will be true. All I know is, he will be missed here. ------------------ I'm so amazingly cool you could keep a side of meat in me for a month. I am so hip that I have difficulty seeing over my pelvis.
