I believe i now see the Hakeem situation more clearly. Maybe its not that he is unhappy with his minutes, he is unhappy with himself. He is playing well, but I think he realizes that he is, out of the "limelight". For 15 years, he has been in that limelight, and now when he is kicked out, he must be feeling resentment toward the rox. He knows that no matter what, he is no Steve Francis, and he is not the dream of old. Dream was my favorite player of all time, but im starting to see, he is an Iverson, Bryant, or Jordan. He cant stand to not be in the limelight. Thats sad, because it shows the lack of class from one of the greatest players of all time.

i couldn't disagree more. dream has been and forever will be a class act athlete. jealous? the man wants a larger role not a new shoe contract. he wants to prove he can still play and he isn't washed up. he knows he isnt in the running for MVP. i dont know why half this BBS condemns any rocket player for voicing and an opinion and wanting to be more involved for the sake of the team. boohoo maybe it shows he isnt there just to collect a paycheck.

and im not saying he should have gone to the media. im just saying that he isnt some spoiled little brat that some people r trying to make him out to be... in school does every boy and girl be quiet and do what they r told even when they dont like it? voicing an opinion is not a bad thing.

    sorry to say i really diagree w/ u Francis3422.

If Dream didn't say anything half these people would be accusing him of being complacent.

He merly stated his desire to be involved and given the way he's played he damm well deserves it !

I think theres a time and place for everything, but venting his frustations/desires to the media in the middle of the season is not right.I thought it was disrespectful to his teammates to make a comment about playing with Shaq,I realize he was just having fun with it,but I dont think he chose the right time or the right forum to be discuss that. The Rockets are in the middle of the season and he should be talking about trying to win a championship with THIS team.

You know why psychologists were put on earth? To make witch doctors look good. That's the professional ones. Amatuer ones are worse.

"dream has been and forever will be a class act athlete"

Dream was far from being a class act in his early days. Just ask Olden Polynice. Over the past 10 years Hakeem has truly been a classy individual.

OT,good point but what I was meant to imply was that ANYONE distracting from the goal at hand is acting irresponsible.Unity to me comes from the chemistry of the team acting together for one goal and no one player should distract from that goal.

Hey rockss. Do you think Cat was being disrespectful of his team mates in today's paper when he says "Steve (Francis) and I know the fourth quarter is our quarter. Everybody else follows with us."?

    I do.

He doesn't have half the class Dream does.

showing up late for autograph sessions and then not signing is real classy by dream [IMG]

I'm just sad that Dream is talking about other teams. He doesn't sound like he even cares one bit about finishing his career in Houston. If we knew he would be willing to leave to easily he would be in Toronto right now probably. Oh well, now that the arena is passed the rockets can survive the bad PR from hakeem leaving. He really sounds like he wants to play again next year.. I remember when i first started really watching basketball i heard how great robert parish used to be and wondered why he is still playing at over 40 and embarassing himself. hopefully hakeem wont' end up like parish

Please don't speak of Robert Parish and Dream in the same sentence again. That's just plain sacreligous.

since.. why is that? hakeem could end up like parish if he keeps playing. what exactly is wrong with mentioning them in same sentence?
