Going to Houston Monday for a big dinner for
Guy V. Lewis, my friend and the old basketball coach at the University of Houston.
Guy has been retired for several years now and recently had a stroke. He is coming
back ever so slowly and still somewhat handicapped but we are trying to get him
in the Basketball Hall of Fame and that is what this is all about. You may recall
Guy V. was the coach for Phi Slama Jamma back in the 80’s.

How could I not remember Coach Lewis? All those years of just outstanding teams that were so innovative on the court and in reaching out to the Houston community. I hope he gets better soon and recovers fully. He should be in the Hall... no question. Guy V. is one of the greatest basketball coaches of this or any other era. I wish him well.

A real groundswell of support here for the guy who molded Elvin Hayes, Clyde Drexler and Hakeem. All Rockets and in the top 50 of all time.

    Right.
