I was thinking back on some of my favorite movies of the past decade or so, and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch both came to mind. It occurred to me, then, that I had not heard of anything from Guy Ritchie in quite some time, much to my chagrin. The guy is way too busy writing and directing movies about and for his wife Madonna to produce another masterpiece like his first two movies...and that pisses me off. Checking out www.imdb.com , I see that he is currently working on a project called Revolver, which sounds like a movie in the Lock Stock/Snath cast. This pleases me, but I haven't heard much of anything about it. Does anyone have any little nuggets of info on this movie or its happenings? Casting, for example? Will it have Statham and the same general crew? I'm at work and I'm bored.
Ooh, that's got some juicy info. Thanks, Faos. As for the BMW film, was there any more to it than what was shown in theaters before various movies?
Madonna may have something to do with his career stalling for the time being. I seem to remeber that he made a movie she wanted made and it was extremely bad.
I just saw this movie and it was one of the weirdest movies I have ever seen. Simply did not appear to make any sense at all, yet I kept watching. Can anyone explain it to me?
Holy cow. Old thread is old. What's funny is I only JUST finally saw Revolver a couple months ago. And that was after owning the damn thing for like 6 months. I just put it on my shelf and forgot about it. I enjoyed Sherlock Holmes, but it wasn't really a Guy Ritchie movie in the sense that Lock Stock, Snatch and even Rock 'N Rolla are. I wish he would go back to that style again. And I'm with Around the World. After I finally saw Revolver, I was freaking baffled. Such a strange movie. I think I read somewhere that it was Guy Ritchie trying to write a movie about how important/difficult it is to overcome your own ego...but took a looooong roundabout way of getting there. Still sort of enjoyed it, though.
I thought Rock n Rolla was sh!te. He's always going to keep trying to reach the same heights he did with Snatch and Lock Stock but so far nothings come close. Initially I thought the Daniel Craig joint Layer Cake was by him but it wasn't. Still a good movie though.
