Hey all, I'm doing a little experiment-esque thing for a sociology class and for part of the experiment I need to go to a few gun stores in predominantly African-American neighborhoods. Preferably, these stores would also be black-owned and operated. I looked on Google, but most of the places I found were run by whites. Any info would be appreciated...thanks!

I have an FFL (license to sell guns). I honestly don't think you will have any luck. Your best bet might be to try small pawn shops, but I know that a bunch of them don't do guns at all any more. For the life of me, I can't remember a single African-American gun seller. Now that I think about it, I've never met an (South or East) Asian or Middle Eastern retailer, either. Hispanic is about the only 'minority' I think I've ever seen.

My group consists of 4 guys (one white, one Asian, one black, and one Sikh). We're going to several gun stores with a loose script about purchasing rifles, and recording the kind of treatment we each get at each store. For variety's sake, we wanted to go to a few white-run gun stores and a few black-run gun stores, to see if the treatment differed any, depending on the store. The reason I'm only asking about black-run gun stores is that we had no trouble finding the white stores!
Ideally, the stores would be black-owned and in black areas, but really all we need is a black salesperson, for reasons I somewhat elaborated on in my post right above this (just to see various treatments).

Yeah, from the pics online, the bulk of the staff looks white, but when I called last night a black guy answered the phone. We're definitely going to swing by there...thanks for tip!

I could tell by his voice. Or it was a white guy doing an impression of a black guy. I didn't really consider that possibility.
