...the last couple of year's hold true.

What i mean is look what happened last offseason, we got the person we wanted for really cheap, something everyone didnt see was possible. Stro cudve went anywhere else for alot of money but chose Houston. Then we got our legit pg in skip. Altogether last offseason had us beggin for the season to start with some of us saying we win a championship. Yet, what happened?...

Dont you see the trend? The opposite of our feelings in the offseason reflect the season ahead.

Yeah kinda sounds crazy but what happened when we got tmac, MANY of us were very excited, but still some, including myself didnt want to part with stevie AND mobley. Some had doubts it would work, yet what happened? We did GREAT, but not great enough to get us to the finals.

Now with this season ahead of us, MANY of use are going in it with bad feelings. Whether it be tmac not being healthy, losing depth and athleticism (gay+swift for battier), or whatever reason.

So if all holds true i see that we will be in for a big surprise, maybe conference finals? :D

eally with all that said though, i hate the trade ALOT, but this is just to help me stay positive (yeah u can say im in denial) and maybe you too. I mean we needed a third scorer and thats kinda what we got. Battier is smart great team player too.

Yeah im just a die hard fan and whatever happens i trust the rockets staff that they know what they are doing, and i still believe we will be an elite team next year.

I just lost all hopes. I am trying to forget that this team even exist.
At least I am going to have the money I was spending on my season tickets to spare some good vacation somewhere far from Houston. I just want to forget that this ever happened.

we kept the #8 pick: Rudy Gay

if.... we sign mike james and start him at the point, find away to aquire/sign chris wilcox or another young legit PF.

    James,McGrady,Battier,Wilcox,Yao starting....
    alston,head,novak,howard,hayes on the bench.

I could win 55 games if healthy.

We do not need a lazy chris wilcox, i believe he only played good for his contract, he has no work ethic and i think that what we need righ tnow is a tall sg who can defend.

This might only happen if the Rockets management manage to find us a starting Point Guard, Two Shooting Guards, a Starting Power Forward and a decent back up Center.[Mutombo on his last legs]

The only real scenario that would have made sense to make the Gay/Swift for Battier trade is if we were a team that just lost in the NBA Finals and needed that 1 missing piece. But, the Rox were one of the worst teams in the league, slow, inept, atheletically overmatched, unable to score points, mediocre defense, and just plain boring to watch. Months before this draft and all during the past season, the universal belief was the Rox needed to get quicker, younger, more athletic but of course this trade did the exact opposite which is what has fueled the anger of the fans.

For once, I agree with El Yetti.

We added a swimmng pool to our house but the roof is still leaking and the windows are broken.

Well I don't know about a great year but I have seen the overreaction before.

    We drafted Eddie Griffin!!! Yay!
    We got Scottie Pippen!!! Yay!
    We got Stromile Swift!!! Yay!
    We drafted Luther Head!!! Booo!!!
    We drafted Robert Horry! Boo!!!
Yao Ming will never make it! Trade him!!!!

So I'm just going to chill to see how it all works out.

I am wondering if Gay is not overrated due to the weakness of this draft. Has everyone considered if Gay flops we actually may have ripped off Memphis?

I will certainly admit I was wrong if Gay becomes an allstar, I wonder if the other side will admit they were wrong if Gay is EG or Stro Redux.

Yup, I will admit it if Gay turns out to be a bust.

But you know what, lottery picks from UConn has never failed big time, and a 10/5 threshold from Battier is a pretty low threshold to pass anyway. I bet Gay will do better than that barring injury.

If you looked at the #8 to #10 picks historically, these guys are pretty good. Again, the 10/5 threshold is pretty low to pass.

One more thing, people say it will take Yao 3 years to contribute, well, in the first year, Yao contributed. Gay might not get the minutes initially, but he will be a solid contributor by the second half of the coming season.

By the way, I want to see if the fans who say it will take Yao 3 years to contribute are the same people who agree with the trade.
