I would greatly appreciate one. I sent in a request with Google a while ago, but have not gotten one. I would love to be simultaneously productive and silly with my department at the radio station.
just send me your email addresses through the site and I will send them to you. I think I have only two left. So you two would be it.
Hayes, where did you find the invites you could send out? I've had an account for at least a week now and I don't think I have the option. Did you have invites to send out right after opening your own account?
In its current basic form all it looks like is a very nifty and full-featured collaboration tool, which is something that doesn't exist online yet, and is pretty cool. However, Waves itself is way to broad to replace something as stream-lined and simple as facebook, at least for now. I think in the future what they are hoping is that in the developers will create applications (like a social networking site) out of the underlying Waves technology. So in that case, it's more like an engine for live updating and collaboration, which newer applications can be built on top of.
I have had Wave for a while as well. Like you, I don't have any invites. I believe you have to receive your invite directly from Google to have invites.
Wave is everything you wish email and instant messaging would be. What I really like about it is that it takes the "conversation" concept that Gmail first introduced years ago, and then puts it on steroids. Really the best collaboration tool ever.
Guys mine are already gone.. you only get 8. As for how I got them.. It took about a month for me to get invites. So those who just joined you know how long you'll have to wait. After I was invited it took like three or four days to get my email invitation... so you know. If anyone wants to add me to their wave I am spygrl @googlewave .com
I agree. The only thing that stops this from being an immediate email killer is that you have to have a Google account. Differing from email where you can communicate with anyone else irregardless of whom their email account is with. But Google is taking over the world anyways so it's just a matter of time. I wish I could get some invites soon, because the only way to use it is with other Wave users. And I've already had a few situations where I thought this would be perfect to use but they didn't have Wave accounts yet. In the meantime I can't really do much with it.
well crap i guess i'll forget about this by the time the weekend rolls around. thanks for the invite though
I'm fairly certain the google account thing is temperoray. This Wave stuff is all open source, so people can create their own Wave "servers" for use at their own company and they will still be compatible with other Waves around the net. Google was smart enough to restrict this to just their stuff.
