    Eddie,

Did you ever get your Netflix promo code? If not, go to the BB forum at http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Customer-Service/ct-p/Customer_Service and post a topic.

A forum mod will contact you and ask for your "Customer Service Pin" which is located in the middle of your receipt. It is 4 sets of numbers.

I bought my Chromecast in store at the beginning of August and also did not have my promo code on the receipt. After posting on the forum, a rep contacted me within about a day and sent me a working promo code to my registered email. Give it a try if you haven't redeemed your code yet.

    Good luck.

Pandora comes to Chromecast today, so that you can listen to your favorite stations on the best speakers in your house. Download the latest version of the Pandora app ( http://goo.gl/hk0dc ) on your Android smartphone or tablet or iPhone ( http://goo.gl/JhP8Fi ), and look for the same cast button you’re already used to.

That's what Sono's is for. I wouldn't want to listen to Pandora through my TV speakers.

Unless your TV is hooked up to a nice home theater system or a decent soundbar at least.

As I was posting in the Plasma thread, I have a very nice and stealth home theater system, but I cannot get sound when I try to play from the Chromecast on that TV. No idea why, but I can get a picture just zero sound through the speakers. It really irks me.

2nd on Plex if I could get sound!

I have the same problem using Netflix on the Chromecast. Whatever it is that the Chromecast is spitting out under the guise of Dolby 5.1 isn't legit. But on your phone inside the Netflix app you have an option to change the streaming from "Dolby 5.1" to Stereo. That way you'd at least get some sound. Just not full surround.

For that reason (and Ballstreams as well) I put a Roku 3 in my Living Room and moved the Chromecast to a bedroom. Would've went with an Apple TV, but I didn't want to not be able to use my phone while streaming Ballstreams via AirPlay.

I said before but, my Chromecast connects to my TV through the HDMI 2 in, then I connect from the optical out on my TV to the optical in on my AVR. I just have to switch my TV to HDMI2 and my AVR to SAT (the spare optical input) when I want full surround (or PCM stereo on Pando or Youtube) from Chromecast.

If your TV does not have a digital audio out, I believe you can buy a decoder that splits the the video and audio from HDMI to analog.

    analog stereo: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/hdmi-audio-decoder
    digital: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free...0P-Converter-Digatal-Audio-HDV/915469086.html

Also, I read a lot of Netflix is not 5:1 but just stereo. They use whatever the original source is.

Yeah, I returned one and kept the others for bedrooms. If they could get a fix for 7.1 audio I'd be a happy camper. I'm almost wanting my den TV to explode so I can go ahead and purchase a smart TV.

Chank, I've tried all 4. Same issue.

Dubious, all of my wires are hidden through a hole behind the TV and come out through a hole behind the cabinet to the receiver. The wife would cry if I had wires hanging out anywhere. True story.

I think their issue goes down to the chrome's audio settings. I remember people having issues with DTS or whatever it is...7.1 and 5.1 issues. Luckily I haven't had the issues with my receiver. I was worried.

Yeah, that's a simple work around. But, my TV is mounted on the wall with all wires hidden. I just didn't feel like it would be worth the trouble of taking the TV down and snaking an optical cord through. Plus, I'd rather have a more capable streaming device in the living room. I only bought a Chromecast because of how cheap it is and it came with the Netflix credit.

Granted it does work flawlessly outside of the sound issues.

Somebody ran those wires so it must be possible to run another optical wire through the same holes. I bought my wires on monoprice for like $2.99

Pandora now has chromecasting ability. The only caveat is that you need to manually stop the music if you have an active HDMI port that the Chromecast can control. Last night I swapped over to the Rox game and the Chromecast kept changing my input back for each new song.

What are you using to watch the Rockets games? Are you casting the tab to your TV? Does the audio work at all? If so, does it line up with the video on your TV?

Streaming Ballstreams via XBMC via an HTPC with HDMI out. Works perfectly although there's a small black border around the picture, but this may be a limitation of my XBMC/HTPC setup. It doesn't bother me enough to mess with it since it's on a 73-inch TV.

I actually have an HDMI to HDMI/toslink splitter that I am fixing to put on ebay if anyone is interested.

I haz the sad. I picked one of these up thinking I could cast Chrome tabs from my iPhone to the TV... but i've since learned i can only do that from a PC.

I never have a PC in front of my tv... that's what my phones and iPads are for.

I haven't used this thing once since buying it. If they ever allow casting tabs from Chrome from the iPhone or iPad... i'll probably start using this a lot more.

You can. It just has to be from a tab from a PC.
