To the programmers out there, What sites are useful for learning and discussing PHP and Cold Fusion, web design and development in general? I currently do web and database development part time and am looking to expand my knowledge to eventually work in one of the bigger design firms in the city. However, I think I need to find the best resources on the web and join a BBS to discuss things with experts. Any ideas?
I'd like to know how to make a website. I'm too lazy to go search through a search engine, but I'm sure someone has a good place for a beginner to go to, eh?
I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not. I am not a beginner, and I do frequent several sites but a search engine doesn't necessarily give you the best results - was wondering if there were more or ones that I might be missing, or just something I had not thought of. It's very time consuming to go through a term as broad as that and find good results, many sites are just there to make money and not to help or discuss things with others. I am also looking for a good PHP forum, I have found some but don't like them all that much. They are decent, though.
Haha! No, not at all man. I can't help you at all as I am a beginner (or not-even-starter) on the subject, so I was hoping whoever is and does read this thread could help us both out.
I could tell you, but you'd probably be too lazy to follow up on the advice, so I'm not going to waste anymore of your or my time.
Ouch, haha. Well, I'd listen if someone told me! I just don't wanna go and look at a bunch of different things that might not be good. There's a lot of bad information on the net. If you refered me, I'd trust you.
If you're a member of EarthLink, their Trellix web building site is very cool! It's very easy to use and even idiots like me can use it. http://www.earthlink.net/biz/ehost/trellix/
Arghhh...!!! You beat me to it. DevShed.com But, do you want to LEARN PHP, or do some PHP and then ask questions? For the latter, do DEVSHED. If you want to learn, start by doing your own with DreamWeaver MX and download mysql to your machine, do a site, and presto, you got your PHP playground...
